And that's mainly due to Chrome OS and its eagerness to act more like Android for smartphone than Windows for laptops. Chrome OS is easy to use as a platform on the go and it offers most of the basic functions that Windows 10 will offer. And if you are invested in the Google ecosystem, you will find it tough moving to Windows 10 or any other PC OS.

And with everything good I’ve said here, I wouldn’t blame you if you did. The HP Chromebook x360 14 G1 packs a ton of great features into one package and I was genuinely happy using the device during our review period. But I was able to use this device at no cost to myself, and I have to believe that if I were to have paid the exorbitant $1250 that this Chromebook retails for on HP’s website I would have been a tad disappointed.

When two devices share the exact same price point, it is nearly impossible to not draw comparisons between them. For what it is worth, at MSRP, I simply don’t think the HP Chromebook x360 14c brings enough to the table to compete in the current Chromebook landscape. When nearly the same device can be had for $220 less in the Lenovo Flex 5 and a clearly-superior option is available in the Acer Chromebook Spin 713 for the exact same money, I’m just not sure where the HP slots in.

For the price, it’s starting to edge into the territory of better machines. A small bump in your budget can land you a Windows 10 laptops such as the Acer Aspire 5 A515-46-R14K – with AMD Ryzen 3, 128GB SSD, a Full HD screen and a backlit keyboard. On the other hand, if a 2-in-1 convertible is a must, and you don’t mind Chrome OS, the same budget can get you the Lenovo Chromebook Flex 5, with a 10th Gen Intel Core i3 CPU, a Full HD resolution screen and weighs much less than the Chromebook x360 14a. But if all you’re buying for is basic productivity and much on battery life, sleek design and portability, then the HP Chromebook x360 14a (14a-ca0022nr) is a good Chrome OS convertible that offers substantial savings over a horde of corporate and deluxe model. It’s well worth considering.

I think the 14c is only a few tweaks away from being a great laptop — but those are important tweaks, and it’s not quite there yet. I don’t think it offers a better-value package than other Chromebooks you can buy. There are just too many things that competitors do better.

EN→ITSo, with all that said, is this device worth the $699 asking price? I’d say…no, but it’s complicated. At $699, I think you should pass on this Chromebook. There’s a lot to like in it for sure. The screen size, the keyboard, trackpad, speakers, fingerprint scanner, and the speed all make for a great overall experience. But the give in the chassis and 250 nit screen really do give me pause at this price point. But here’s the good news: this Chromebook has been on sale a few times already, and as we were filming this review, it was actually marked down a ridiculous $320. Will it stay there? Not all the time, but the fact that we’re seeing massive deals on it already means those deals are likely to continue in different amounts over time. So, while I’d say $699 is too much, anywhere under $499 makes this device a fantastic value! At that sort of price, you can forgive the small issues with this Chromebook and really enjoy all the great parts. There’s a ton to love about the HP Chromebook Plus x360 14c, and it’s a great value if you simply wait for the right time to buy it.

Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
Intel HD Graphics 610:

Adattatore grafico integrato di fascia bassa con supporto DirectX 12, che si trova in alcuni SoC ULV della serie Gemini Lake. Rispetto all'HD Graphics 505, il 605 migliori uscite display.

i7-8650U:
Processore quad-core a basso consumo basato su Kaby-Lake-Refresh. I quattro core hanno un clock compreso tra 1,9 e 4,2 GHz (Turbo Boost) e supportano HyperThreading. La GPU integrata ha un clock compreso tra 300 e 1.150 MHz. Il SoC è prodotto in un processo 14nm+ FinFET.
i5-8250U:
Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato sul Kaby-Lake-Refresh. I quattro core hanno un clock tra 1,6 e 3,4 GHz (Turbo Boost) e supportano l'HyperThreading. La GPU integrata ha un clock compreso tra 300 e 1.100 MHz. Il SoC è prodotto con un processo FinFET da 14 nm+.
Intel Kaby Lake:
Pentium 4415U:
Processore Kaby-Lake-based ULV dual-core per portatili sottili e ultrabooks. Rispetto al Core i3-7100H, il 4415U ha un clock più basso (2.3 vs 2.3 GHz), ed offre una quantità di Level 3 cache inferiore oltre ad una GPU più lenta. Entrambi realizzati con lo stesso processo in 14nm.
Intel Comet Lake:
i3-10110U: Processore dual-core a bassa potenza basato su Comet Lake (tecnicamente identico a Whiskey Lake e ancora prodotto in 14nm++). I core della CPU possono clockare tra 2,1 e 4,1 GHz (tutti e 4 i core a 3,7 GHz max.) con HyperThreading (4 thread). Il controller di memoria integrato supporta DDR4-2666 e utilizzando cTDP su/giù le prestazioni possono essere regolate dall'OEM (10 - 25 Watt possibili, 15W di default). La scheda grafica integrata clock da 300 - 1000 MHz e offre solo 23 invece di 24 CU.
i5-10210U: Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Comet Lake (tecnicamente identico a Whiskey Lake e ancora prodotto in 14nm++). I core della CPU possono clockare tra 1,6 e 4,2 GHz (tutti e 4 i core a 3,9 GHz max.) con HyperThreading (8 thread). Il controller di memoria integrato supporta DDR4-2666 e utilizzando cTDP su/giù le prestazioni possono essere regolate dall'OEM (10 - 25 Watt possibili, 15W di default). Rispetto al più veloce i5-10510U, la cache di livello 3 è stata ridotta da 8 a 6 MB.
Intel Gemini Lake:
Celeron N4020: SoC dual-core a bassa potenza della serie Gemini Lake per notebook economici. Funziona con orologi tra 1,1-2,8 GHz e integra un adattatore grafico compatibile con DirectX 12.
Pentium N5000:
SoC quad-core a bassa potenza della serie Gemini Lake per notebook economici. Funziona con clock tra 1,1-2,7 GHz e integra un adattatore grafico compatibile con DirectX 12.
Pentium N5030: SoC quad-core a bassa potenza della serie Gemini Lake per notebook economici. Funziona con orologi tra 1,1-3,1 GHz e integra un adattatore grafico compatibile con DirectX 12. Il 5030 è il refresh del vecchio Pentium 5000 e offre un Boost clock da 400 MHz più alto.
Intel Tiger Lake:
i3-1115G4:
Processore dual-core a bassa potenza basato su Tiger Lake per laptop sottili e leggeri. I due core della CPU sono clockati con 3 - 4,1 GHz e il clock integrato UHD Graphics Xe GPU con fino a 1,1 GHz.
i5-1135G7:
Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Tiger Lake per computer portatili sottili e leggeri. Prodotto in un processore migliorato a 10nm presso Intel.
i3-1125G4:
Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Tiger Lake per computer portatili sottili e leggeri. Offre 4 core con clock a 2 - 3,7 GHz e un UHD Graphics con 48 EU. Prodotto in un processore migliorato da 10nm+ (SuperFin) presso Intel.
Intel Alder Lake-M:
i3-1215U: CPU mobile basata su Alder Lake con 2 core ad alte prestazioni e 4 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 8 thread che possono essere elaborati. Il clock della CPU va da 0,9 a 4,4 GHz. Il TDP è specificato a 15 Watt.
