We also need to find out more about pricing, I’ve been told it’s going to be priced higher than the 2019 15-inch ZenBook G 15 at launch, which came at $1199. Too much higher and it would be getting too close to those 15-inch options, and I’m not sure its smaller footprint would be enough to steer you in its direction.

Asus could surely do something both those temperatures though, by providing a Gaming-optimized power profile that would limit the overpowered CPU, allowing it to run cooler with games. That should not be hard to implement since the profile seems to exist already, but it only kicks in automatically when playing games on an external monitor, with the laptop’s lid closed. Will it happen, though? I sure hope so, but I’m not going to hold my breath for it.

Potentissimo, il portatile più potente che io abbia mai testato, non sono mai riuscito a metterlo in difficoltà con niente. Molto stabile, niente schermate blu, driver già settati, insomma, una macchina veramente strong. Non costa poco, 1799 euro, ma non costa nemmeno tantissimo per le prestazioni che offre e per il fatto di essere una macchina da gaming compatta. Vi ricordate le macchine da gaming grosse di qualche anno fa? Qua tutto questo non c’è, è un computer che potrebbe essere usato per programmare, renderizzare, usare AutoCAD e molto altro ma non lo so, non riesco a farmi andare giù la mancanza della webcam. Per il resto veramente un gran pc, molto molto potente.

The G14 is no longer the most powerful 14-inch gaming laptop you can buy — and while its battery life in particular may still make it a great buy for some users, it’s no longer the obvious choice for everyone. The Blade 14 offers significantly more powerful chips in a chassis that’s thinner and almost as light. And while the Blade 14 is more expensive, there are also a number of ways to get an RTX 3070 for a lower price than the G14 is asking here. If you’re willing to go for something slightly bigger and miss out on the fancy lights, the Zephyrus G15 will give this exact chassis design (with the same exceptional keyboard, touchpad, audio, and battery life) with much better gaming results for less money. If you still want fancy lights, you can also get a 5900HX and an RTX 3070 (along with a 144Hz display) in the RGB-packed ROG Strix G15 at a lower price than my test unit. The updated version of the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401 impresses us just like the 2020 variant. The new iteration has a lot to offer – it looks good – not too gamer-ish and that’s why you can use it for office purposes as well without being distracted by hundreds of glowing RGBs. Moreover, the device is compact and light as well which contributes to good portability and it’ll fit in most backpacks. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 GA401 looks and feels like a modern compact versatile machine and it really is. Despite its premium look and build, the device is loud during heavy loads and its shell isn’t too cool in this situation. We don’t like the absence of Thunderbolt support – a premium device like this should offer an extra like that. Ok, we’ll not complain too much about the lack of an SD card reader. Despite the abovementioned cons, this 14-inch gaming laptop remains one of the best offers on the market and if you’re on the hunt for a powerful, compact, and light gaming laptop you can shortlist it.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. è un importante produttore taiwanese di hardware per computer con sede a Taipei, fondato nel 1989. Con il marchio Asus, l'azienda produce un'ampia gamma di prodotti, tra cui laptop, desktop, schede madri, schede grafiche, monitor, smartphone e apparecchiature di rete , sistemi completi e componenti PC per utenti finali.
Con il marchio ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS produce laptop da gioco conosciuti dai giocatori per le loro potenti specifiche, schede grafiche dedicate, display ad alta frequenza di aggiornamento e sistemi di raffreddamento avanzati.
Oltre ai giochi, viene offerta un'ampia gamma di notebook per esigenze e budget diversi, dagli ultrabook ultrasottili e leggeri ai versatili convertibili 2 in 1 e alle opzioni economiche. Nel 2023, Asus deteneva una quota di mercato globale del 7% del mercato dei PC.
La soddisfazione del cliente per i notebook ASUS riguarda le prestazioni, le caratteristiche e il buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei notebook ASUS. Tuttavia, come con qualsiasi marca, ci sono segnalazioni occasionali di problemi come surriscaldamento, compatibilità dei driver o problemi di qualità costruttiva.
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia medio-alta basata sull'architettura Turing con funzionalit‡ di raytracing e 1.920 shaders. Rispetto all'analoga scheda desktop con nome simile, offre valori di clock ridotti.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Max-Q:
Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia medio-alta basata sull'architettura Turing con funzionalità di raytracing e 1.920 shaders. Offre velocità di clock ridotte per ottenere un consumo energetico molto più basso.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q:
Scheda grafica dedicata di fascia media per computer portatili sottili e leggeri basata sulla GTX 1660 Ti con velocit‡ di clock ridotte e drivers ottimizzati.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti Mobile:
Scheda grafica dedicata di media gamma per computer portatili che utilizza un chip Turing TU117 senza raytracing e nuclei Tensor. Dovrebbe essere leggermente più veloce di una GTX 1650, ma è anche disponibile in diverse varianti con un TGP che va da 55 - 80 Watt (e due pacchetti).
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile:
Scheda grafica dedicata di fascia media per computer portatili basata sulla GTX 1660 Ti desktop e quindi sull'architettura Turing senza raytracing e Tensor cores. Le prestazioni della variante Max-P dovrebbero essere simili a quelle di una vecchia GTX 1070.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU: Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip Ampere GA106 con 3072 core. Disponibile in diverse versioni con un TDP da 60 a 115 Watt.

AMD Renoir (Ryzen 4000 APU):
R7 4800HS: APU mobile Octa-Core che utilizza core Zen 2 con clock da 2,9 a 4,2 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 7 CU con clock fino a 1600 MHz. Il 4800HS è la versione da 35 Watt (-10 Watt) del Ryzen 7 4800H.
R9 4900HS:
APU mobile Octa-Core che utilizza cores Zen 2 con clock da 3 a 4,3 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con probabilmente 7 CU.
R5 4600HS: APU mobile Hexa-Core che utilizza core Zen 2 con clock da 3 a 4 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 6 CU con clock fino a 1500 MHz. Versione da 35 Watt del Ryzen 5 4600H.
AMD Cezanne (Zen 3, Ryzen 5000):
R9 5900HS:
APU mobile octa-core che utilizza core Zen 3 funzionanti a 3-4,6 GHz e una scheda grafica Vega con 8 CU funzionanti fino a 2100 MHz. Rispetto al 5900HX (fino a 54 W), il 5900HS è configurato per un TDP di 35 W ed è quindi adatto ai notebook più piccoli.
R7 5800HS:
APU Octa-Core mobile che utilizza core Zen 3 con clock da 2,8 a 4,4 GHz e un adattatore grafico Vega con 8 CU con clock fino a 2.000 MHz. Rispetto al 5800H (fino a 54 W), il 5800HS è configurato per un TDP di 35W e quindi adatto ai portatili più piccoli.
