Honestly, the best thing about this laptop is not about the power it provides, but the usability it offers. Having a spill-resistant keyboard that is comfortable for typing is essential in our opinion, especially when you spend most of your day with this device. After all, accidents happen.

Using those materials in combination with a mostly plastic skin keeps the weight down, something anyone who carries their system through a working day will appreciate. What’s genuinely impressive is how fast these systems can be when compared with much more expensive ultrabook designs, as they use similar platforms and include some special features, like Thunderbolt ports. While this has a relatively easy fix, it isn’t one that the Acer support team appears able to provide. Even with this mistake, the Travelmate P4 is one of the better cheap business laptops that we have tested and easily worth the modest asking price Acer wants for it.

EN→ITIts murky screen would normally limit the Acer TravelMate P4 to a two- or two-and-a-half-star rating, though we decided to give it three stars for its bargain price, satisfying ports, and decent performance. Plugged into a monitor via the HDMI port or a DisplayPort adapter in a USB4 port, it's a capable desktop alternative. It's also lighter for travel than many 16-inch rivals, though a candle in a garret would be better than its screen on an airliner with only an overhead lamp for illumination. This review isn't an unequivocal thumbs-down, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed.
