Si tratta comunque di un costo abbastanza elevato, che viene però pienamente giustificato da dettagli e design al top e prestazioni davvero niente male. Si tratta di un prodotto innovativo, che probabilmente piacerà poco agli amanti dei classici.

Quest’ultima creatura di Lenovo non è sicuramente un prodotto perfetto, anzi. Potrebbe essere più potente; potrebbe esserci una tastiera con un feedback migliore; potrebbe esserci una versione di Android più rifinita. Ma tutti questi difetti passano in secondo piano davanti all’originalità del dispositivo. E come tutti i prodotti che aprono una nuova categoria, se deciderete di essere early adopter potrete assaporarne i vantaggi fin da subito, in attesa magari di una seconda generazione di questo device che possa costruire partendo dai mattoni che per ora sono meno solidi.

The Windows version of the Yoga Book can’t do that, so I would avoid that model.

The whole thing gets a little shaky when you go beyond Lenovo’s apps and services pre-installed here. Five years after bringing Android to tablets, Google just doesn’t seem to have the form factor figured out. So it’s not really Lenovo’s fault, but it does limit the capabilities for the Yoga Book. At $499, it’s tough to recommend this device when your money isn’t going very far. I’d actually recommend the Windows version because, despite being slightly more expensive, you’re getting an operating system built for the form factor. There’s little reason to buy an Android tablet right now, especially at $499. But there are plenty of reasons to get a full-blown laptop running software that matches perfectly with the hardware.

Can the Yoga Book be your notebook replacement? Probably not. But in most cases, the Lenovo Yoga Book can do so much more while other conventional tablets and laptops fail. In terms of productivity, the Halo keyboard might pose an issue to some users because let’s face it, you can’t beat the physical keyboard with a virtual one. Although, the one presented in this device comes pretty close. Also, if you really rely on your everyday tasks, the Windows version will suit you better while the Android variant will be more suitable for casual use and creativity, not to mention that the Android version still needs more polishing in terms of usability as we already mentioned in the software section.

A tough question for such a unique device. The Yoga Book should be very useful for students and sketchers who want to back up their work and also need a tablet for typed note taking. For everybody else with less specific use cases, a £400 Google Pixel C (with a third-party Bluetooth keyboard) might be a better choice. Or, if you want to spent a lot more, the highly capable 9.7-inch iPad Pro has better performance, an amazing stylus and a good keyboard. But with all of that you’re going to be spending close to £700.

There are so many glimmers of greatness in the Lenovo Yoga Book that I wish I loved it more. Can it do more than a tablet alone? It can, but at the cost of not being the best possible tablet. Can it replace your computer? The Atom processor and funky keyboard mean no, not likely. Ultimately, it’s like winding up with a platypus when all you really wanted was a beaver or a duck. The exception is if you enjoy digital sketching and note-taking enough that you want the option handy at all times, but not so much that you’d spring for a dedicated accessory. That’s a narrow frame of appeal to contort into, but hey. That’s what Yoga is for.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.

Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.

Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.
