At $150 it's one of the most affordable Android options and it's from a reputable tablet maker. The most impressive thing about the ASUS MeMO Pad Smart 10 is that it streets for around $280, yet it offers a 10.1-inch IPS display, Tegra 3 processor, and a thin and light design. It even looks like a premium tablet, plastic back notwithstanding. You don't get to that price point on a 10.1-inch slate without making some sacrifices, and the biggest one is screen resolution, which checks in at just 1280x800.

As a budget tablet, the Memo Pad HD 7 perfectly fits the bill. It's fast enough, has all the features you'd expect and a particularly vibrant screen. It's keenly priced and generally offers an excellent user experience. It's also light enough to use comfortably for extended periods. There's no 3G or 4G version of the HD 7 available, so if accessing the internet on the move is a priority, the Asus FonePad is probably the most viable option, despite its lack of camera and slightly inferior performance and audio/visual quality.

Get the new Nexus 7 if you want the latest feature and the best balance of performance to price. If price is your greatest concern, the MeMO Pad HD 7 is an excellent choice. It's also worth noting that the Kindle Fire HD represents a solid alternative here, especially for the Android-averse, and Amazon has been running a number of sales that drop it into HD 7 territory; likely ahead of a new model release before the holiday season.

Sadly though, Asus' timing is terrible. Because the Memo Pad is launching alongside the Nexus 7 its overall appeal is severely diminished. The Nexus 7, despite costing £200, features significantly better internal components, a more up-to-date Android version and is guaranteed to be one of the first devices to recieve any Android software update, thanks to its Google branding. For this reason, unless you're a die-hard fan of Asus custom applications, which we don't imagine many people are, or a really strapped for cash there's not a lot of point buying the Memo Pad over the Nexus 7.

Con i MemoPad ASUS si è gettata nel mercato dei tablet tradizionali per la prima volta e forse ha ancora bisogno di un po’ di pratica mentre sui Transformer ha più esperienza . Il dispositivo appare molto promettente, economico con uno schermo ottimo ma non troppo luminoso completo ma allo stesso tempo incompleto. Speriamo in eventuali aggiornamenti software perché oltre all’enorme parco di applicazioni personalizzate da ASUS il firmware di sistema non è il massimo e la GPU PowerVR integrata non riesce forse ad esprimersi come dovrebbe. La versione LTE, disponibile a 299€ con processore Qualcomm potrebbe essere più interessante.

Performance may be a little lacklustre, but screen quality and battery life are good, it’s handsomely designed and storage is expandable, thanks to the microSD slot. Its key problem is that – while it does everything perfectly well – the Nexus 7 is superior in most departments. Unless memory expansion is absolutely critical, we’d spend the extra £20 and opt for the A-List title holder.

Even if you’re dead set on a budget 10in tablet, then we’d still recommend you buy the £200 Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 instead, which offers similar performance, a brighter screen, better build quality and a nifty Bluetooth keyboard.

So, is the MeMO Pad 7 really the best affordable tablet you can buy? Yes: it’s much cheaper than the LG G Pad 8.3 or Google’s Nexus 7 and feels more grown up than the Tesco Hudl.

At the end of the day the ASUS MeMO Pad 7 ME176C is a pretty decent tablet for $149.00 shipped. The 7-inch IPS LCD Display was found to be crisp with excellent viewing angles. The ASUS ZenUI over Android 4.4 KitKat was slick and best of all the performance was solid. The Intel Atom Z3745 Bay Trail processor is very powerful and could easily handle all the tasks that we threw at this Android tablet. We knew that the MemoPad 7 ME176C would give the Nexus 7 (2013) a run for the money and it easily outperformed the tablet in all the benchmark apps with the exception of one graphics test. It looks like Intel really does have a viable processor now that can take on Qualcomm, ARM and others in the mobile space.

Overall the Asus MeMo Pad 7 is an accomplished and affordable 7-inch Wi-Fi only tablet, even if it fails to truly excite and get the blood pumping. But with the Tesco Hudl its main nemesis, it does a good job of standing up against the supermarket giant: the Asus is the better looking bit of kit. However, and despite a decent angle of view from the screen, we find its reflective coating somewhat annoying, while the resolution isn't the best in class. Still, for £120 it's par for the course; if you demand more then look toward the latest Google Nexus 7 instead, assuming you have some extra cash to spend.

In terms of looks, the Asus MeMO Pad 8 is plain and unprepossessing. The rounded corners and Asus branding on the front are not a surprise. The long edge screen bezel is pleasantly narrow, so that the 8in screen fits into a reasonably small chassis at just 125mm wide and 212mm tall. It might just fit into some pockets.

Per portarci a casa questo condensato di Intel, Zen UI, Display HD 7 pollici e prestazioni, tocca sborsare di listino la modica cifra di 149 Euro, punto prezzo aggressivo. Come se non bastasse (per fortuna!) c’è stato un calo importante di prezzo. 100 Euro sembrano un prezzo molto più ragionevole e in ottica generale,un vero e proprio affare.

Asus: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. è un importante produttore taiwanese di hardware per computer con sede a Taipei, fondato nel 1989. Con il marchio Asus, l'azienda produce un'ampia gamma di prodotti, tra cui laptop, desktop, schede madri, schede grafiche, monitor, smartphone e apparecchiature di rete , sistemi completi e componenti PC per utenti finali.

Con il marchio ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS produce laptop da gioco conosciuti dai giocatori per le loro potenti specifiche, schede grafiche dedicate, display ad alta frequenza di aggiornamento e sistemi di raffreddamento avanzati.

Oltre ai giochi, viene offerta un'ampia gamma di notebook per esigenze e budget diversi, dagli ultrabook ultrasottili e leggeri ai versatili convertibili 2 in 1 e alle opzioni economiche. Nel 2023, Asus deteneva una quota di mercato globale del 7% del mercato dei PC.

La soddisfazione del cliente per i notebook ASUS riguarda le prestazioni, le caratteristiche e il buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei notebook ASUS. Tuttavia, come con qualsiasi marca, ci sono segnalazioni occasionali di problemi come surriscaldamento, compatibilità dei driver o problemi di qualità costruttiva.

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

ARM Mali-400 MP:

NVIDIA GeForce ULP (Tegra 3): Scheda grafica Ultra Low Power (ULP) integrata nel SoC Tegra 3. Simile alla GPU Tegra 2 ma con pixel shaders addizionali ed ottimizzazione.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

NVIDIA Tegra:

3: SoC High-End per tablets e grandi smartphones che integra 4 Cores ARM Cortex A9 ed un ulteriore core per il risparmio energetico. Inoltre, è inclusa una GPU GeForce LP che si basa sulla vecchia GeForce 7.

Mediatek:

MT8125: SoC ARM quad-core per tablets con scheda grafica integrata PowerVR SGX 544.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).

Z2560: SoC con una CPu dual-core Atom based integrata con clock da 1.3 - 2.0 (short bursts), una scheda grafica PowerVR SGX 544MP2 da 400 MHz, ed un controller di memoria dual channel LPDDR2.

Z3745: Soc con processore quad core Atom integrato con clock da 1.86 GHz (Turbo), una GPU Intel HD Graphics ed un controller di memoria dual channel LPDDR3-1067.

Z3560:

SoC Quad-core per smartphones e tablets. Con clock fino a 1.83 GHz ed integra una GPU PowerVR/IMG GPU DirectX-11-capable.
