ZTE Nubia Neo 2 5G è un prodotto che ho inizialmente snobbato ma che si è rivelato molto più interessante delle mie aspettative. Ovviamente non è un prodotto perfetto e i due difetti veri sono la distribuzione Android 13 e la qualità fotografica. Al netto di questo è un prodotto ben pensato, realizzato e costruito che va a colmare un vuoto di mercato importante e cerca di andare incontro ad una richiesta di mercato evidentemente presente. Il target di riferimento è ovviamente il ragazzo giovane, il teenager che gioca con lo smartphone e che cerca un buon compromesso tra prezzo, estetica e prestazioni. In questa connotazione e con questo utilizzatore in mente, Neo 2 5G è uno smartphone ben pensato e con il quale vi troverete bene.

Bloatware is minimal and the phone’s MyOS UI overlay is simple enough to use for longtime Android users. The main 50MP camera performs decently in daytime use. Dopo averlo usato a lungo per i test di questa recensione, nubia Neo 3 GT 5G ci è piaciuto per diversi aspetti. Ha un display ottimo per il prezzo, una batteria capiente, un design da gamer e anche piccole agevolazioni per chi gioca come i grilletti e il Game Center. Ma manca in una categoria importante: le prestazioni. Non potrete giocare con grandi dettagli grafici in maniera fluida. Se speravate in uno smartphone da eSport dal prezzo bassissimo, purtroppo quello resta un sogno. Piuttosto, ci sembra che questo nubia sia per chi si sente gamer ma ha basse pretese riguardo i giochi che vuole provare. Chi è disposto ad accettare qualche lag extra, troverà carattere e un grande schermo. Il problema è che molti giocatori non amano i compromessi.

Ma non bisogna farsi ingannare dalle apparenze: le prestazioni sono nella media, più simili a quelle di un mid-range economico che a un vero e proprio “gaming phone”. Per giocare si può fare, ma con compromessi. È quindi un prodotto dal look aggressivo e dalle intenzioni ambiziose, che però si ferma a metà strada. Potrebbe essere una buona scelta per chi vuole un telefono “diverso” nel design, con buona autonomia e funzioni gaming light, ma non è indicato per i giocatori più esigenti.

Taking everything into account, the nubia Neo 5 GT feels like a more deliberate and focused take on what a midrange gaming phone should be. Instead of trying to chase flagship-level specs, nubia clearly prioritized the fundamentals; sustained performance, effective thermal management, a responsive display, and battery endurance. And for the most part, those decisions pay off. The experience feels consistent, especially in longer gaming sessions where many devices in this segment tend to fall short. The cameras are serviceable at best, the software comes with some bloatware and occasional ads, and there are a few minor design quirks. But given the phone’s priorities, these feel more like trade-offs than outright dealbreakers. If you’re someone who prioritizes gaming performance over everything else, this is one of the more compelling options in its price range.

Moving on to our verdict, I honestly have mixed feelings about this. Sure, it’s got that typical nubia DNA that makes for a good gaming smartphone. La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

ARM Mali-G57 MP4:

ARM Mali-G615 MP2: Chip grafico di fascia media per smartphone con 2 dei 6 core possibili. Basato sulla quarta generazione dell'architettura Valhall. Offre un'ombreggiatura a tasso variabile.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.
