Surface Laptop è la prima proposta Microsoft riconducibile per design alla categoria dei notebook tradizionali, e per certi versi questo sorprende: con la famiglia di prodotti Surface Microsoft ci ha infatti abituato a proposte che si differenziano notevolmente per scelte tecniche da quanto già disponibile sul mercato, con l'intento di creare nuovi punti di riferimento e aprire a differenti modalità di utilizzo dei dispositivi. La gamma Surface Pro ha aperto le porte ai dispositivi 2-in-1, in grado di venir utilizzati come notebook o come tablet a seconda delle necessità d'uso. Surface Book è un prodotto ibrido a tutti gli effetti, che passa dall'essere un notebook di elevata potenza con GPU dedicata al trasformarsi in un notebook Windows. Surface Studio, infine, è un PC desktop di tipo integrato che offre approcci differenti pensati soprattutto per i creativi.
