And, the most significant issue of all, the haptic touchpad just isn’t very good. ThinkPad Z13 è un notebook completo, caratterizzato dalla costruzione molto robusta e al contempo curata dal punto di vista del design, pensato per chi ha necessità di uno strumento da avere sempre a disposizione e con il quale lavorare spesso lontano dalla presa di corrente. Porta in dote tutte le caratteristiche tipiche che ritroviamo nei prodotti Lenovo della famiglia Thinkpad, a partire dalla iconica tastiera. Non costa poco ma mette a disposizione una piattaforma ben bilanciata tra la ricerca di una elevata potenza di calcolo e la necessità di operare a lungo con batteria.

Price shenanigans aside, I really like Lenovo’s ThinkPad Z13. It meshes style and portability in a unique way, while also offering solid performance and decent battery life. Though not perfect, the Z13 gets enough right and is genuinely a joy to use. I’d recommend the Z13 to anyone looking for a stylish laptop to handle their work needs. The Z13 truly is a workhorse of a laptop and manages to get it done while looking good. Plus, I appreciate the compact size and weight for when I need to take it on the go. Overall, you get a very nice, compact, quiet, and moderately powered laptop that fits into a shoulder bag. It has a great screen, wonderful keyboard, and a great build. There are a few flaws and peccadilloes, but I don't consider anything to be a major deal breaker. The laptop starts at around $1,400 on Lenovo's website which means you can probably find it for less at a third-party retailer. The fingerprint reader gives me pause, just because this is the first laptop I've reviewed from Lenovo (and I've reviewed a lot of them) with this kind of fingerprint sensor. Other sensors in the past have given me no trouble — but considering this is the same kind of fingerprint sensor showcased on Lenovo's next upcoming foldable laptop, it seems this is the way forward for the company. I hope that the issue I had is worked out behind the scenes. Of course, if you're more of a facial recognition or PIN type of person, that won't bother you at all. Beyond that, there's really not a lot to dislike. Maybe you could ask for better airflow.

Fa molto piacere vedere AMD e il glorioso marchio ThinkPad competere nel settore degli ultraportatili ultrapremium - soprattutto perché è un nome estremamente rispettato nel mondo del lavoro, a cui questa categoria di prodotto si rivolge. È ben progettato, ben assemblato e si spinge ai limiti di ciò che è fisicamente possibile ottenere in così poco spazio. Alcune scelte estetiche e di layout potrebbero non incontrare il gusto di tutti, e le poche porte sono un potenziale problema (almeno il lettore di schede!), ma sono dettagli che si dimenticano quando si accende il sistema e si posano gli occhi su questo pazzesco display OLED super luminoso e super definito, e si osserva con che facilità i Ryzen 6000U riescano a gestire compiti anche impegnativi. Forse questa specifica configurazione “maxata” (sia come display sia come processore) potrebbe non essere la più consigliabile, per via dell’impatto che ha sull’autonomia, ma se dovete lavorare con la grafica o il video editing anche in mobilità e non avete bisogno di una batteria che vi porti fino a sera in un colpo solo, ne rimarrete soddisfatti. In conclusione, questo è un degno concorrente di computer come MacBook M2 (Pro o Air, decidete voi) – rispetto al quale guadagna in portabilità in quasi tutte le misure e offre un design ricercato e alternativo al classico stile Mac, oltre ad ASUS Zenbook S13, Dell XPS 13+, HP Spectre x360 13,5. Rimanendo in casa Lenovo, ci sono i ThinkPad X basati su CPU Intel, anche se è bene precisare che la serie Z ha un design language tutto suo. Infine, piccola considerazione sui prezzi: ThinkPad Z13 parte da 2.199€ in configurazione base, mentre quella testata su queste pagine arriva a ben 3.539€. È un prezzo molto alto guardando anche i diretti concorrenti, ma è vero che Z13 offre alcune caratteristiche che gli altri non hanno - connettività LTE, tanto per cominciare, e doppia fotocamera frontale FHD.

Lenovo ThinkPads are premium machines; as we mentioned, Asus' Zenbook 14X OLED costs $400 less with a discrete GPU (and $900 less for the Q420 model with comparable integrated graphics). That means we hold them to a higher standard. Like the recently reviewed Z16 Gen 2, the Z13 Gen 2 disappoints us with its lack of ports other than USB4—though that's more forgivable in an ultraportable than a desktop replacement—and changes to the classic keyboard and touchpad. It's a high-quality lightweight professional laptop, but it doesn't rise to the heights of the X1 Carbon or Dragonfly G4.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 is an outlier among ThinkPads. Gen 2 keeps the same recycled aluminum enclosure and updates the AMD silicon to Ryzen Pro 7000 processors while swapping the leather-like treatment for a woven flax fiber material as an optional lid covering. Our review unit didn't feature the flax fiber lid but did come equipped with the top display option, a spectacular 2.8K OLED touch panel. The ThinkPad Z13 Gen 2 is a marvel for its exceptional build quality and trim dimensions. It feels like a tiny tank of a laptop, and I have no doubts about its ability to withstand the bumps and bruises of business travel.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.

Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.

Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.
