La data di produzione di massa dei nuovi MacBooks con processore Apple slitta al secondo semestre del 2021

According to a new Nikkei Asia report, Apple plans to begin mass-producing its next ARM-powered MacBooks in the second half of this year. Apparently, Apple had initially planned to start mass production of two new MacBooks in May or June, although it is unclear what forced the company to reschedule. Nikkei Asia has not provided any details about these two MacBooks, either.

Nonetheless, recent rumours point to at least one being a new 16-inch model. Apple released the MacBook Pro 16 in November 2019 on Intel 9th Gen Core processors, so the machine is overdue for a refresh. According to DuanRui, Apple will equip the next MacBook Pro 16 with its M1 SoC, which would be rather underwhelming. However, other rumours point to Apple using an enhanced M1X SoC, which you can read more about here.

2021 may finally be the year of the MacBook Pro 14 too, which is expected to replace the MacBook Pro 13. Additionally, Apple is thought to have adopted a flatter design language with its new MacBooks that resembles the iPhone 12 series. The redesign may even see the return of an HDMI port and an SD card reader, which Apple cut from the MacBook Pro series five years ago. If Nikkei Asia is correct in its assertion, then we would expect Apple to release these new MacBooks during the final few months of the year.
