We tested a well equipped variant with an Intel Core i7-3720QM quad-core processor, NVIDIA Quadro K2000M graphics (also compared AMD FirePro M4000), SSD drive and a FHD display costing in excess of 3000 Euros (~$3869).

Our last true mobile workstation Editors' Choice was the HP Elitebook 8560w$941.16 at Amazon Marketplace, and while it also has ISV certifications and also has a 15.6-inch full HD screen, the HP 8560w used an older Core i7 processor and AMD FirePro graphics. Granted, the 8650w also came in at under $1,600. The Dell Precision M4700 is a higher-level workstation, with many more options, expandability, higher end drive systems, higher end graphics options, and is generally more capable. If you have a need for ISV certified apps, or highest end reliability and performance, then the Dell Precision M4700 is the mobile workstation for you, and as such, earns our nod for Editors' Choice for mobile workstations.

Come se Kaby Lake-G non fosse già abbastanza di nicchia, Dell ha fatto di tutto per offrire una workstation convertibile dotata della rara CPU Intel-AMD. Il risultato finale è una delle più potenti workstation convertibili da 15 pollici convertibili disponibili, anche se sacrifica alcune caratteristiche di connettività comuni lungo il percorso.

Dell: Dell è un produttore statunitense (con sede in Texas) di hardware per computer fondato nel 1984 ed è uno dei maggiori produttori internazionali sia in termini di quota di mercato che di modelli di notebook. La sua linea di prodotti comprende desktop, notebook, sistemi di archiviazione, monitor, server, stampanti, elettronica di consumo e periferiche. Dell offre laptop adatti a varie applicazioni, come laptop aziendali, laptop da gioco, ultra portatili e workstation. I laptop aziendali Dell delle serie Latitude e Precision sono un'opzione per utenti professionali e aziende.
Nel 2023, Dell deteneva una quota di mercato di circa il 17% delle vendite globali di PC, classificandosi al terzo posto dopo Lenovo e HP.

Scheda grafica per workstation di fascia media basata sul GM107 28nm architettura Maxwell con 512 shaders ed un bus di memoria da 128-Bit. Come la vecchia Quadro M1000M e la GeForce GTX 950M consumer che ha più shaders).
AMD WX Vega M GL:
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
NVIDIA Quadro P3000:
Scheda grafica high-end per workstation basata sul chip da 16nm GP106 (simile alla consumer GTX 1060) ed architettura Pascal.

3720QM: Processore quad-core basato sull'Ivy Bridge con un clock da 2.6 GHz con supporto Turbo Boost fino a 3.6 GHz. Offre una GPU HD Graphics 4000 integrata che gira a 650-1250 MHz ed un controller di memoria dual channel DDR3.
Intel Kaby Lake:

Processore quad-core per notebook basato sull'architettura Kaby Lake gira a 2.9 - 3.9 GHz. E' il secondo modello per velocità della serie consumer H ad inizio 2017. Il chip integra anche una GPU HD Graphics 630 GPU con clock da 350 - 1100 MHz ed è realizzato con processo da 14 (migliorato rispetto alla Skylake).
E3-1535M v6:
Processore quad-core professionale per notebook basato sull'architettura Kaby Lake gira a 3.1 - 4.2 GHz. E' il modello top della serie Kaby Lake H all'inizio del 2017 e di conseguenza anche il processore mobile più veloce. Il chip integra anche una GPU professionale HD Graphics P630 con drivers certificati e clock da 350 - 1100 MHz ed è realizzato con processo da 14 (migliorato rispetto alla Skylake).
