Il Dell Precision 14 5470 ricorda per molti versi la serie XPS, che è uno dei migliori complimenti di possa fare a un notebook. Dell ha mantenuto una tastiera di qualità elevata e prestazioni ottime, pur virando verso hardware per professionisti. Lo schermo è di qualità (pur senza brillare come alcune soluzioni consumer) e l’autonomia è davvero elevata. Un notebook di qualità, non c’è dubbio. Tuttavia, il prezzo importante (la nostra configurazione in prova costa oltre 3.500 euro) lo rendono un notebook che attrarrà soprattutto i professionisti. Che in questa fascia hanno molta scelta, con soprattutto Apple che con i nuovi chip riesce offrire potenza in formato ridotto. Se siete professionisti che non badano a spesa e vogliono la potenza di una workstation in soli 14 pollici e meno di un chilo e mezzo, Dell Precision 14 5470 è un’opzione solida e di qualità. Ma non è l’unica che potete considerare: si tratta di capire se questo notebook è quello che fa per voi. Sure, it would be more to lug around, but its performance would more than make up for it. And while app selection would be more limited with the Apple MacBook Pro 14, it would be another solid alternative if it ran the apps I needed. As it is, the Precision 5470 is simply too expensive to justify its limited performance. Simply put, if the Precision 5470 can handle your workflow, then you likely don’t need a workstation-level laptop.
