Ottimo compromesso tra prestazioni, dimensioni e autonomia, l’ASUS U30Jc è un notebook ultraportatile che consente di essere produttivi anche durante gli spostamenti. Da sottolineare la scheda grafica NVIDIA, il display con retroilluminazione a LED, il Wi-Fi, il lettore di schede di memoria e la webcam, anche se la risoluzione è decisamente bassa.

I never quite understood the "Lifestyle" classification before, but with the Asus U30j it all suddenly makes sense - it enables you to do everything you want in your digital life. With a stylish design, long battery life, and excellent performance, you can enjoy all the trappings this digital age has to offer without making a mad dash to a power outlet or worrying about the system slowing you down. We’ve seen plenty of systems sucked into a vortex of mediocrity attempting to be everything to everyone, but Asus’ U30Jc pulls off this politician’s dance with the grace of a student body president: It’s attractive, equally appealing to jocks (gamers) and nerds (spreadsheet jockeys), and yet not from the snotty rich side of town (Apple?). Strained analogies aside, this is the system you’re looking for when you really can’t decide which niche mobile machine fits your needs best, or, as some reviewers seem to imagine, afford to buy a fleet of laptops for different scenarios.

First, let me make it clear that there's really a lot to like with the U30Jc. It has a great design aesthetic, it's fast enough for all but the most demanding users, and it delivers great battery life. There are faster laptops out there at the same price, but they inevitably fall short in other ways. For instance, the Acer 5740G has much faster graphics but battery life tanks. The Alienware M11x (with reasonable upgrades like 4GB RAM) has fast switchable graphics, but driver support is a lingering question and even an overclocked CULV will struggle at times.

Asus did well by designing this machine in the way that they did. Right out of the box, it's stunning to look at. It's built tough and rigid, the brushed aluminum is of high quality, the trackpad is the best we have used and the "clean" look throughout assures you that Asus intends for this machine to handle serious work with ease. We really enjoyed the usability; having a multi-touch trackpad that worked well helped our productivity, and having a nice, spacious keyboard did as well.

The U30S is Asus’ new 2011 lineup that comes with Sandy Bridge CPU and Fermi 2 graphics. This 13.3 incher packs a pretty nice punch thanks to the Core i5 CPU running at 2.3GHz (2.9GHz in turbo) and Nvidia Geforce GT 520M graphics. Although the GT 520M is the slowest offering from the GT 5xxM series, we still managed to play Dirt 2 at 1366x768.

Con il marchio Asus, l'azienda produce un'ampia gamma di prodotti, tra cui laptop, desktop, schede madri, schede grafiche, monitor, smartphone e apparecchiature di rete , sistemi completi e componenti PC per utenti finali.

Con il marchio ROG (Republic of Gamers), ASUS produce laptop da gioco conosciuti dai giocatori per le loro potenti specifiche, schede grafiche dedicate, display ad alta frequenza di aggiornamento e sistemi di raffreddamento avanzati.

Oltre ai giochi, viene offerta un'ampia gamma di notebook per esigenze e budget diversi, dagli ultrabook ultrasottili e leggeri ai versatili convertibili 2 in 1 e alle opzioni economiche. Nel 2023, Asus deteneva una quota di mercato globale del 7% del mercato dei PC.

La soddisfazione del cliente per i notebook ASUS riguarda le prestazioni, le caratteristiche e il buon rapporto prezzo-prestazioni dei notebook ASUS. Tuttavia, come con qualsiasi marca, ci sono segnalazioni occasionali di problemi come surriscaldamento, compatibilità dei driver o problemi di qualità costruttiva.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

NVIDIA GeForce 310M: La GeForce 310M è il successore della GeFore G210M e si basa sullo stesso chip con un clock rate molto simile (velocità shader +30MHz a 1530MHz).

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M: Scheda grafica di fascia bassa basata sul nuovo chip GF119 con un bus di memoria di 64 Bit e supporto per GDDR5 e DDR3.

Intel Core i3:

2310M: Processore dual-core basato sull'architettura Sandy Bridge con una scheda grafica integrata ed un controller di memoria dual-channel DDR3. La CPU ha un clock da 2.1 GHz e sfrutta il Turbo Boost 2.0 solo per la scheda grafica (650/1100MHz).

Intel Core i5:

430M: Il Core i5-430M è una CPU dual core di media classe che sfrutta solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed ha un clock tra 2.26-2.53 GHz (Turbo Mode). Inoltre, nella 430M mancano VT-d, trusted Execution e funzioni AES. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere gestiti 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono incluse anche una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 500-733 MHz) ed un controller memoria DDR3.

2410M: Processore dual-core basato sulla architettura Sandy Bridge con una scheda grafica integrata ed un controller di memoria dual-channel DDR3. La CPU ha un clock da 2.3 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.6-2.9 GHz) e la GPU da 650 (1200 MHz Turbo).
