Per $ 200 - $ 300, smartphone ZenFone 2 realizza un case robusto, in particolare da un punto di vista di design e prestazioni, contro i più costosi dispositivi da 5,5 pollici. Lo stesso dispositivo è fisicamente abbastanza grande, non meno però difficile da afferrare e utilizzare. E' difficile non apprezzare il retro curvo in metallo e i 4 GB di RAM che dovrebbero placare gli utenti che sono presi dalle installazioni di applicazioni spesso solo per provare a migliorare la durata del dispositivo. Il supporto 4G e dual-SIM si rivolge anche agli utenti internazionali che preferiscono un brand più affermato come Asus invece di alimentare marchi cinesi come Xiaomi o Huawei.

I Caveats includono una retroilluminazione che è notevolmente più debole rispetto ai modelli concorrenti e la durata della batteria sotto la media. Certo, 6 ore di uso continuo WiFi è probabilmente sufficiente per la maggior parte degli utenti, ma la mancanza di una batteria rimovibile non aiuta. Questi alcuni importanti aspetti negativi rendono più facile raccomandare lo One Plus One, che ha un prezzo simile, per coloro che non vedono alcun vantaggio nei 4 GB di RAM, né a breve né a lungo termine.
