Business people eh? Ruthless, bloodthirsty? Maybe in the 80s. The modern businessman of today is a trendy fellow, teleconferencing his power brunch over a goatee and a grande macchiato. We weren't expecting much from the Samsung P580, but this is a highly usable laptop that offers surprising punch when it comes to performance. The anti-glare screen won't please everybody, however.

Unfortunately mobile workers may also balk at the old-time runtime of little over three hours too. It's a chunky heavyweight that lacks the build integrity and finesse of HP or even Dell, but that sub-£750 price may win over a business accounts department.

With a great screen, keyboard and touchpad, plus the excellent build quality, the Samsung P580 has plenty going for it. Its fast 3D performance is notable, too, but unless this is a priority, it's hard to justify the high cost compared to similar but cheaper models that are quicker in Windows and have longer-lasting batteries. If you can find it cheaper, though, it's a good buy.

Cosmetically I loved this unit, the screen was far less reflective than ‘cheaper’ notebooks and I have already mentioned no fingerprints, the Intel Core i3 processor worked well and the 3GB of Ram proved perfectly adequate. Doing my Internet searches found the Samsung P580 Business Notebook at £723 from the link below.

Samsung: Samsung Group è il più grande conglomerato sudcoreano ed è stato fondato nel 1938. Samsung Group impiegava 489.000 persone nel 2014 ed è una delle più grandi aziende al mondo in termini di fatturato e forza di mercato. Il nome Samsung significa "Tre stelle" in coreano e rappresenta i tre figli del fondatore dell'azienda. L'azienda nasce nel 1938 come negozio di alimentari. Con la sua controllata Samsung Electronics, fondata nel 1969, Samsung ha intrapreso la produzione di articoli elettrotecnici, concentrandosi fin dall'inizio sull'elettronica di consumo e sugli elettrodomestici. Altri rami in cui è attiva la grande società includono ingegneria meccanica, automobili (Hyundai), assicurazioni, commercio all'ingrosso, immobiliare e tempo libero. Samsung produce una vasta gamma di prodotti elettronici, inclusi smartphone, televisori, elettrodomestici e semiconduttori. La linea di smartphone Galaxy dell'azienda è una delle più popolari al mondo. Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Intel Core i5:

430M: Il Core i5-430M è una CPU dual core di media classe che sfrutta solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed ha un clock tra 2.26-2.53 GHz (Turbo Mode). Inoltre, nella 430M mancano VT-d, trusted Execution e funzioni AES. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere gestiti 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono incluse anche una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 500-733 MHz) ed un controller memoria DDR3.

Intel Core i3:

330M: La Core i3-330M è una 350M con un clock inferiore e di conseguenza manca della feature Turbo Boost ed ha un clock con un massimo di 2.13 GHz. Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono inclusi anche una scheda grafica integrata (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller di memoria DDR3.
