La parte gaming è ovviamente curata nei minimi dettagli con tutta una sezione software a essa dedicata e richiamabile tramite l’iconico tasto fisico rosso presente sul frame. Presenti inoltre i trigger soft touch programmabili e posizionati comodamente sul lato superiore del device quando questo è utilizzato in modalità orizzontale, proprio come una vera e propria consolle portatile. Eccezionale l’autonomia d’esercizio grazie alla batteria da ben 6.500 mAh che gode anche di ricarica rapida a 80W, così come strabiliante sia per qualità che per potenza l’audio multimediale, uno dei migliori mai testati dalla nostra redazione. Il comparto camera è il migliore che mai abbiamo utilizzato su un Redmagic, adatto a un gaming phone con l’unica pecca della selfie cam, che è posizionata under display per agevolare l’esperienza immersiva del gaming.

In un segmento come quello dei gaming phone, nel quale bisogna continuamente spingere sull'acceleratore per dare l'illusione di offrire qualcosa di mai visto prima, la strategia piuttosto conservativa che Nubia ha adottato con questo REDMAGIC 9 Pro ci ha lasciato un po' interdetti: è vero, il SoC è nuovo di zecca e porta con sé abbastanza potenza da far segnare nuovi record nei benchmark, ma per il resto le poche novità riguardano elementi marginali, con diverse lacune storiche della gamma ancora ben visibili. Ben vengano dunque delle fotocamere finalmente migliorate e un design sempre meno pacchiano, ma se il software lascia ancora molto a desiderare, la traduzione è rimasta al palo e il supporto sul lungo periodo rimane una (brutta) incognita, è evidente che non si è agito dove c'era più bisogno. REDMAGIC 9 Pro resta un gaming phone dal rapporto qualità/prezzo quasi inarrivabile, ma se si cerca altro al di là della forza bruta è inevitabile guardarsi intorno.

È dotato dell'ultimo processore Snapdragon top di gamma, ha una scheda tecnica molto completa e soprattutto ha un design moderno e molto ben studiato. Il retro completamente piatto è il coronamento di un ottimo lavoro di progettazione. In più aumenta la batteria, la velocità di ricarica, la dimensione della camera di vapore e la risoluzione della fotocamera grandangolare. Il tutto senza aumentare il prezzo. Brava RedMagic.

Il prezzo di listino del 12/256GB è di 649 euro, il 16/512GB invece costa 799 euro ma in entrambi i casi direi si tratti di prezzi a fuoco, non esagerati. Il design a me è piaciuto molto ma capisco possa essere non per tutti e poi ho riscontrato alcuni bug software di gioventù e una scivolosità non indifferente oltre che le camere solo mediocri. Se questi difetti non vi spaventano avrete però un bello smartphone, costruito bene e super prestante.

The Redmagic 9 Pro is an excellent gaming phone. Plenty of power under the hood, dedicated hardware, impressive cooling and great battery life mean the gaming experience is consistently fantastic. But it also achieves the rare feat of being a solid day-to-day phone. The cameras are better than expected (aside from the dodgy selfie one) and can deliver very usable photos and videos. The software is also easy to use, provided you don’t mind some bloatware and the occasional bug. So the only real barrier is the sheer size and weight of the device. Like most gaming phones, it’s a bit of a beast, so it’s still only really worth buying if you love playing games.
