Before wrapping up, I will say that I tested Linux on this notebook as well, but not to an extensive degree. Reading around the web, it appears this notebook works just fine with Linux, but as any Linux user should know, some tweaking might need to occur. The main thing you’ll need to worry about is logging into Windows at least once, in order to turn off the Bitlocker hard drive encryption. Once done, you can use bootable media to install Linux or use diagnostic tools if you want to repartition the drive first.

If consistency is the name of the game when it comes to ThinkPads, then the X1 Carbon is perhaps the perfect ThinkPad. It’s rugged, yet light; fast, yet efficient; modern, yet familiar. It is Lenovo playing to all of the strengths of the ThinkPad, without really branching much beyond that. I wouldn’t recommend it for the average consumer, student, creative professional, or road warrior; it’s too expensive, there are too many configurations, and the battery life just isn’t good enough for those needs. But for someone that only cares about using it for productivity work, and perhaps has an employer footing the bill, it’s hard to think of a better computer for the job.

Lenovo Yoga 920 Vibes è un notebook convertibile che fa molto bene quello che è stato progettato per fare. Navigazione web, utilizzo del pacchetto Office, visione di contenuti multimediali: il portatile della casa cinese è pensato per la produttività in mobilità, compito che svolge in modo ottimo, il tutto con un look unico nel suo genere. Dal processore alle prestazioni del disco M.2, le performance sono sempre molto buone, almeno se si cerca un prodotto dalle dimensioni così contenute. Se a questo si aggiunge la versatilità concessa dalla cerniera e dal pennino, allora diventa difficile trovare dei difetti in questo Yoga. Design, qualità costruttiva e performance hanno il loro prezzo però, con il Vibes che parte da 1699€.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.

Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.

Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Processore Kaby-Lake-Refresh basato su un processore quad-core low power. I quattro cores hanno un clock tra 1.8 e 4 GHz (Turbo Boost) e supportano l'HyperThreading. La GPU integrata ha un clock tra 300 e 1,150 MHz. Il SoC è realizzato in 14nm+ FinFET.

i5-8250U:

Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato sul Kaby-Lake-Refresh. I quattro core hanno un clock tra 1,6 e 3,4 GHz (Turbo Boost) e supportano l'HyperThreading. La GPU integrata ha un clock compreso tra 300 e 1.100 MHz. Il SoC è prodotto con un processo FinFET da 14 nm+.
