Nuove CPU, una GPU più veloce e una maggiore scelta di display, questo è il ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 in poche parole. Lenovo ha modificato solo leggermente il modello di seconda generazione, con lo chassis rimasto invariato per il modello di quest'anno. Abbiamo messo a dura prova il dispositivo, in particolare quello con pannello 4K opaco, che ha un impatto enorme sulla durata della batteria.

While the latter is not exactly a workstation, with its ULV processor, we think that it provides a great performance/price ratio. Plus it features the ScreenPad 2.0. Nevertheless, we think that in terms of versatility, the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 2 is a very very decent notebook.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.
Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.
Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

i7-9850H: Processore basato sull'architettura di Coffee Lake per computer portatili grandi e pesanti. Integra sei core di processore con clock a 2,6 - 4,6 GHz (4 GHz con 6 core) che supportano HyperThreading. Prodotto in un processore migliorato a 14nm (14nm++).
