MateBook X Pro 2022 è un piccolo capolavoro di produttività e piacere d'uso. Vi troverete subito a casa con lui, fin dai primi momenti di utilizzo, e non ve ne stancherete facilmente. In un mondo di ultrabook che cercano di imitare i MacBook senza nemmeno avvicinarcisi, il portatile di Huawei non solo ci va vicino ma in parte supera anche l'esperienza di Apple. Peccato solo che, se lo osserviamo a 360°, ci siano anche dei punti nettamente migliorabili, come l'autonomia, la qualità della webcam, ed in parte anche l'avveniristico touchpad. La direzione è comunque senz'altro quella giusta, e visti i progressi fatti in poco tempo, Huawei si merita fiducia. E magari chissà, il modello 2023 costerà anche meno!

MateBook X Pro viene proposto da Huawei ad un prezzo di 2.199€ IVA inclusa nella configurazione qui analizzata, con 16GB di memoria di sistema e 1TB di SSD. Come già fatto da Huawei con altri prodotti del proprio catalogo, sono in corso delle promozioni specifiche che permettono di abbinare alcuni accessori ad un prezzo scontato. Per il mouse Huawei Wireless l'abbinamento permette di portare il prezzo a 19,90€ dagli originali 59,99€, mentre per lo zaino abbinato il prezzo scende da 99,99€ a 29,90€. Ma ben più interessante è l'offerta sul monitor Huawei Mateview, che con un costo addizionale di soli 1,99€ contro un listino di 649,90€ può essere acquistato assieme al notebook: è un modello da 28,2 pollici di diagonale con risoluzione 3840x2560 pixel con rapporto 3:2 tra i lati e pannello IPS. MateBook X Pro 2022 è sicuramente uno dei migliori notebook Windows 11 sul mercato: prende quanto di buono era stato fatto precedentemente da Huawei e lo evolve introducendo uno schermo migliore, correggendo i difetti di design (soprattutto la posizione della fotocamera frontale) e aumentando le gesture eseguibili con il touchpad. Il più grande problema di MateBook X Pro 2022 è un prezzo sfavorevole: sia spendendo poco di più sia spendendo poco di meno ci sono ottimi motivi per non sceglierlo. Resta un notebook Windows convincente, che ha molto di quanto si possa chiedere: schermo touch 3,1K, Intel Core di dodicesima generazione, spazioso disco SSD e una tastiera molto buona. Cade sull'autonomia.

It's safe to say that - on the whole - the updated MateBook X Pro is a refinement of the original 2022 design. But arguably is the laptop that earlier version should have been. The updated magnesium alloy finish gives it a really lovely look and texture, the 14.2-inch display offers vivid but accurate colours and crisp detail, while the speakers elevate the experience. Plus, there's plenty of power here with efficient cooling that it copes with just about any task as long as you don't need something that needs a more powerful dedicated graphics processing unit. There's no denying it's an expensive machine, but given the improvements it seems - at least - that it's more worthy of that price tag than its predecessor was.

The 2022 MateBook X Pro performs well with mainstream workloads, although the lack of discrete graphics hampers it in the gaming stakes. Its 14.2-inch screen is bright, with good colour gamut coverage and accuracy, even if it's not an OLED panel, while the audio subsystem is as good as they come. The only disappointments are 720p rather than 1080p webcam resolution, the lack of an SD card slot and moderate battery life.

All in all, I think the Huawei MateBook X Pro has a lot to offer, and while it is a bit pricy, it’s not overly expensive for what you get. Again, the £1,799 price tag includes a fairly expensive monitor in the package, so this isn’t as expensive as it initially appears. For what you pay, you get a phenomenal display, great sound, premium build quality, and a good typing experience. You can’t ask for a lot more. Except, maybe, for it to be available in the United States. My biggest issues with the Huawei MateBook X Pro have to do with the built-in webcam and microphone setup, plus the lack of legacy ports is unfortunate. I also didn’t love some aspects of the touchpad, but you might be able to get used to how it works. As for the Huawei MateView SE, I’d say this is a nice monitor for the price. I find the lack of speakers a bit unfortunate because I would also like to hook up my Nintendo Switch to it, but if you’re only using a laptop, it probably already has better speakers than any monitor in this price range.

We really enjoyed our time with the new Huawei MateBook X Pro. Assuming it doesn’t somehow fall apart during our testing process - which we would be surprised to see - we’ll feel very comfortable recommending it to anyone looking for a lightweight new laptop. At this point, our main criticism is the relative lack of physical port options. There’s four ports in total (not including the headphone jack), all four of which are USB-C; No USB-A, no SD card reader, and no video output in sight. This is likely due to the ultra-thin form factor, but it’s still annoying that it necessitates the purchase of a USB hub when it’s already going to be quite pricey.

We already knew the latest Matebook X Pro was a slick-looking ultraportable with a stellar screen – and that hasn’t changed now Huawei has upgraded the internals. It’s still a great work machine, thanks to the tactile keyboard, responsive touchpad and 3:2 aspect ratio. The high resolution, HDR support and decent set of speakers mean it can entertain as well. The extra CPU cores have given performance a welcome boost, meaning it can crunch numbers on par with many chunkier machines. A few new colour options help the updated machine stand out from its more businesslike rivals, and by the time you configure an M2-powered MacBook Air with same RAM and storage the price gap is pretty minimal. Battery life remains a sore spot, though, and creative types will still need to look elsewhere for a machine with a dedicated GPU. But if you’re simply after a premium work machine with a splash of style, it absolutely gets the job done.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
