Honor 70 ci è piaciuto e lo consigliamo a tutti coloro che desiderano uno smartphone che nonostante l’ampio display sia maneggevole ed ergonomico, bello e elegante. Senza però rinunciare a prestazioni, cam di livello e autonomia. Se invece per voi lo smartphone è una stazione multimediale che ha come scopo principale la visione di film, serie o altro allora meglio guardare altrove, perché l’audio multimediale rappresenta un vero limite. Honor 70 si inserisce in una fascia di mercato particolarmente agguerrita, dove sono presenti ottimi medio di gamma come Nothing Phone 1, Realme GT2, Samsung A53s e Xiaomi 12T e soprattutto gli ex top di gamma, uno su tutti Oppo Find X5, che nonostante l’età hanno caratteristiche tecniche elevate e forse superiori agli attuali medio di gamma. E che quindi vanno presi in considerazione.

L’Honor 70 è un buon dispositivo medio gamma offerto ad un prezzo in lineo con l’attuale mercato. Attualmente è possibile trovare l’Honor 70, su hihonor, nella versione da noi provata, 8GB+256GB in bundle con il Watch GS 3 Midnight Black ad un prezzo di 549.90 euro, un’offerta davvero interessante; disponibile anche un bundle con la versione 8GB+128GB e gli HONOR Earbuds 3 Pro White al prezzo di 499.90 euro.

Come abbiamo detto in apertura Honor 70 è uno smartphone figlio di questo momento storico, con prezzi in ascesa sia per chi acquista uno smartphone, sia per chi lo produce. Il costo di Honor 70 è di 549 euro per la versione con 128 GB di memoria, che salgono a 599 euro per quella con 256 GB. Fino al 30 settembre inoltre è previsto uno sconto in carrello di 50 euro acquistandolo sul sito Honor, con in più anche le Earbuds 3 Pro in omaggio. La casa cinese ha cercato di bilanciare al meglio i costi, portando sul mercato un prodotto con cui l’utente medio probabilmente nemmeno si accorgerà di qualche mancanza. L’utilizzo quotidiano è infatti eccellente, soprattutto dove serve di più, ovvero nello schermo e nelle fotocamere, punti di forza di un prodotto che, in questo momento, non avrebbe potuto costare meno.

E come sempre siamo giunti al momento di tirare le conclusioni, ma prima di tutto dobbiamo capire quando costa questo Honor 70. Molto semplice: 549 euro nella versione da 8 GB di RAM e 128 GB di storage che salgono a 599 per quella da 8 GB di RAM e 256 di storage. Considerando il momento storico e i costi di produzione e distribuzione che si sono evidentemente alzati, non è un prezzo che io reputo esagerato; è altresì vero che, confrontato con il passato, può sicuramente apparire come un prezzo elevato. Anche perché comunque alcune piccole rinunce ci sono; a partire dalla mancanza di una certificazione IP, passando per l'audio soltanto mono e per una politica di aggiornamento da "compitino". Se devo darvi una cifra di riferimento alla quale lo consiglierei senza problemi vi dico 499 euro. E Honor lo sa bene che per impensierire la concorrenza questa è la cifra corretta, tanto che proprio in occasione del lancio e fino al 30 settembre, acquistando Honor 70 sul sito hihonor è attiva il codice sconto AHONOR70PR che permette di ottenere 70 euro di sconto, un paio di cuffiette Earbuds 3 Pro del valore di 199 euro e una cover da circa 20 euro.

È uno smartphone completo, con batteria ottima e fotocamera sopra la media, inoltre ha un look elegante e uno schermo di qualità. Insomma, tutto. L’unico problema risulta essere l’agguerritissima competizione in questa fascia. Dove trovate anche prodotti di ottima fattura, dall’iPhone SE al Pixel 6, passando per il Nothing Phone (1). Che hanno tutti quel “qualcosa in più” che potrebbe attrarre gli acquirenti.

Honor 70 è il miglior smartphone medio gamma lanciato negli ultimi mesi. In un periodo in cui i prezzi volano Honor ha fatto le scelte giuste: scocca quasi invariata, processore al top anche se non di ultima generazione e un software fluido ma senza molte novità. Questo ha permesso all'azienda però di portare delle novità concrete e positive in un mercato un po' stagnante. La nuova fotocamera di Honor 70 fa di lui un cameraphone economico a tutti gli effetti. Bene anche nelle foto notturne, con la grandangolare e nei video. Finalmente un telefono che consiglieremmo, anche al prezzo di lancio.

Il giudizio finale deve per forza passare dal prezzo e cioè da 549 euro per la 8/128GB e 599 euro per la 8/256GB (anche se al momento la trovate a 549 sul sito di Honor con anche le cuffie Earbuds 3 Pro dal valore di 199 euro). Un po' altino ma in linea con i prezzi di quest'anno che hanno risentito dei costi aumentati di tutta la catena produttiva. Lui comunque si comporta bene, è piacevole da utilizzare e non delude in nessun comparto, un buon medio di gamma!

In un mercato da mesi piatto e in stallo risulta come un fulmine a ciel sereno dimostrando che, anche in un periodo difficile per la tecnologia come quello che stiamo vivendo a causa della scarsità di chip e risorse, ci sono aziende ancora in grado di realizzare prodotti avanzati e concreti. Non è uno smartphone perfetto ma non si richiede questo ad un prodotto di fascia media, ciò che conta è che abbiamo le carte in regola per fare lo smartphone senza far venire nostalgia di un prodotto più costoso. HONOR 70 5G viene proposto a un prezzo di 549 Euro nella versione da 8/128 GB e 599 Euro nella versione da 8/256 GB, per chi effettua il pre-ordine sul sito HiHonor entro l’8 settembre c’è però uno sconto di 50€, le cuffie HONOR Earbuds 3 Pro (del valore di 199 Euro) e una cover ulteriore in omaggio. Un bundle che fanno ben presto dimenticare le poche lacune.

Honor 70, impressioni e foto. La scelta intelligente di tenere un design già visto

Honor 70 costa 549,99 euro nella versione da 8 GB e 128 GB e 599 euro nella versione da 8 GB e 256 GB di storage. Con il coupon c’è uno sconto immediato di 50 euro, quindi 499 e 549 euro. In omaggio le cuffie HONOR Earbuds 3 Pro, che hanno un loro valore. A conti fatti l’utente deve comunque spendere almeno 499 euro, e crediamo che il prezzo sia comunque corretto se Honor mantiene una buona politica di aggiornamento. Non c’è stabilizzatore ottico, ma all’atto pratico si sente poco la mancanza visto che conviene usare la modalità notte piuttosto che sperare di recuperare qualche stop a mano libera con un tempo di posa basso, la scocca è in plastica e l’audio è mono. Non ci sono ricarica wireless e non c’è certificazione IP68, ma forse dovremo abituarci al fatto che questa, a 500 euro, è la nuova normalità. Oggi è davvero difficile fare un confronto tra i diversi prezzi, ci sono troppe dinamiche in gioco: se guardiamo ai prodotti nuovi l’Honor è perfettamente allineato, e con i prezzi che si stanno alzando e i prodotti che si stanno impoverendo l’azienda cinese è riuscita a contenere la riduzione dei costi sfruttando una base rodata. Una base per qualcuno vecchia nel concetto e nelle linee, ma capace di rievocare nei nostalgici i tempi d’oro delle due “H”.

The Honor 70, in the Crystal Silver colourway that I reviewed, is a great-looking handset with a quirky backplate design that isn't spoiled by the provided bumper. I have been very impressed with the Honor 70 and I have been happy with my time using the phone. I think it is going to be popular with those in the market for a premium-looking midi-tier phone that doesn’t have a mid-tier price point. it does a lot of things right from the stunning design to the great cameras and smooth stutter-free performance. I have even been mostly pleased with Magic UI which has traditionally been a pain point for me. Who would I recommend this phone to then? Honestly, this is a phone that can capture such a broad segment of the market it is difficult to say. Howver one thing i can say with certainty is that if you are a keen mobile photographer then there is a lot on this phone to be excited about and you will enjoy using its features especially if you are someone who uses a lot of social media for sharing those photos and videos that you create. Another segment is style-conscious and up-and-coming influencers as they are able to afford a phone that looks like it should be in the next tier and for the most part, it will perform in that higher their as well. Lastly, for anyone who wants their phone to look good and make a subtle but strong statement then this may be a phone worth considering as it is certainly one of the nicer-looking handsets I have seen this year especially if shiny things are your cup of tea (go for the Crystal Silver one as it is stunning).

The Honor 70 showed a decent autonomy experience. Its performance during the Typical Usage Scenario (TUS) was above average, with good night management (only 1.67% of power lost per night). The experience was above average also during the on-the-go tests, especially when scrolling on social apps and using the camera. In calibrated mode, the performances were satisfactory across all use cases, with decent autonomy when gaming and streaming videos. When it came to charging, the 66W charger provided about 6 hours and 30 minutes of autonomy after a 5-minute boost. It took 31 minutes and 40 seconds to fill the battery to 80% of its 4800 mAh capacity, and 1 hour and 13 minutes to fully charge it. We also measured that the time between the 100% displayed on the screen and the true full charge, which is indicated by a drop of power consumption from the outlet, was really long at 28 min. In addition, the residual consumption of the charger was higher than average. The charge efficiency, as well as the power adapter efficiency, was good.

It’s a very good smartphone in those areas, and we’d go so far as to say it’s best-in-class for anyone after a slender, rich-looking phone to watch content on at under £500. That the phone’s battery and performance impress only add to its appeal, and with a good camera in most situations, it definitely covers the basics. Still, most people can live without any of those. Plus, no phone at the price packs all of them, and any alternatives that feature one or two aren’t as sleek as the Honor 70. All this means Honor’s made one of the best midrange smartphones out now, despite its shortcomings.

The Honor 70 is an accomplished mid-range phone, a confident step forward for the company after its breakaway from Huawei. With Google services and apps, a thoughtful and attractive design, strong performance, and good battery life, this is one of the better phones in this price range in the UK and Europe – sorry US friends. It’s hard to fully recommend it though when the Pixel 6a is cheaper, is similarly plastic but has a superlative camera set up and a better version of Android (with longer support to boot), while the Nothing Phone (1) also undercuts the Honor in price too and adds in wireless charging. But with a 120Hz display and very good main camera, the Honor 70 is a solid choice and takes it to phones like the OnePlus Nord 2T – though that phone is also cheaper. If Honor’s next mid-range phone can boost the software promise and shrink the price, it will have a real winner on its hands.

There are some omissions, which I initially chalked up to cost cutting. The lack of wireless charging and the mid-range internals that reduce your use to just below any super intensive tasks. But at £80 more than the Nothing phone (1) and many more competitors giving you more for less, it's difficult to recommend the Honor 70.

The Honor 70 is merely just a mid-range phone with some additional extras, and that means it’s not a particularly unique or special smartphone. It does a good job at pretty much everything, but there are phones that are a whole lot better than it at various different tasks. Want a good camera? Get a Pixel 6a. Want cleaner software (though with a bit of an unproven track record)? Then the Nothing Phone 1 might be worth it. Then there’s obviously the likes of the OnePlus Nord 2T and the litany of options from Poco and other device manufacturers, and you end up in a situation where the Honor 70 just seems overpriced. There’s not a whole lot more to really add, to be honest. The phone is a good one, but it costs a lot for what you get. Why spend so much on a phone that’s only a little bit better than some phones that cost 20% less? If this phone ever goes on sale, I’d consider it then, but otherwise, the other phones that it competes against are already available for a lot lower price. Google services and the echos of a Huawei-driven smartphone aren’t enough to coast off of when commanding a premium price — there needs to be more. Honor does well with what it has, but to charge a price that much higher than the rest of the space, it needs to do more.

This is by no means the ‘perfect’ phone. It doesn’t have the processor or camera technology to compete with Samsung or Apple. But what it does have, for its price range, is shockingly good. There’s still a few months to go, but this is likely going to be the bargain of the year.

Most of the Honor 70’s features are good enough. Its cameras are good enough, its software is good enough, and its length of software support is good enough. There are even some aspects of the phone that are better than good enough, like battery life, charging speeds, and the responsiveness of its display. (Although I wish it weren’t curved.) But with a starting price of £480, £80 more expensive than several other very capable midrange handsets that have been released this year, “good enough” isn’t really good enough to justify a purchase. Google’s Pixel 6A is more affordable, with better cameras, longer software support, and an official IP rating for dust and water resistance. Samsung’s Galaxy A53 is more affordable and offers a similarly lengthy software support period and a fantastic, flat display. The iPhone SE 5G is more affordable and offers access to the iOS app ecosystem and wireless charging. The Nothing Phone 1 has fun flashing lights. Unless you definitely need an IP rating, I don’t think the Honor 70 has any serious flaws or deal-breakers.

There’s nothing wrong with the Honor 70 at all, but I really can’t find a reason to recommend it over any other similarly priced phone. It’s even quite difficult to recommend it over the currently much cheaper Honor 50 if you really must have an Honor phone. The saturated smartphone market makes it hard for brands to do something different, but the Honor 70 is the company on autopilot. If you’ve got 500 pounds or around $600 to spend on a new phone, the choice is huge. We’d recommend the Google Pixel 6, to wait to see the Google Pixel 7, or to spend less and get the Google Pixel 6a. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G is a great buy, I recently liked the Oppo Reno 8 Pro, the OnePlus Nord 2T and the Realme GT Neo 3T are well priced, and the Nothing Phone 1 is totally different from anything else out there at the moment. Shop around or trade in a phone with Samsung directly, and the Galaxy S22 even becomes an option too. When I swap my SIM card from the Honor 70 into another phone, I don’t think I’ll remember the Honor 70, and that’s probably the harshest criticism of any current device.

But just like its predecessor, the price is what keeps us from recommending it. There are many options with a similar feature set asking a lot less and there are also powerful flagship killers at the Honor 70's price. Honor's offering has a few key disadvantages that can't be overlooked - less than ideal chipset for the asking price, no stereo speakers (this one isn't even loud enough), not the best battery life overall, no ingress protection and the software still feels rather unfinished with aggressive background app management. It can potentially become a sound choice for many once the price drops in the following months, but for now, your hard-earned money may be better spent elsewhere.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata.
