For $1,049, the laptop offers solid overall performance for all your multitasking needs. But more importantly, thanks to its Max-Q GTX 1060, budget-conscious gamers can get good frame rates on graphically taxing games. I just wish the screen were more colorful and the keyboard more comfortable.

After spending some time with the G7 15, however, I can say that it provides some of the best performance and value in the budget gaming class of laptops, and stands toe-to-toe with Acer’s offering.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 Max-Q:
Scheda grafica ad efficienza energetica high end per portatili sottili e leggeri basata sullo stesso chip GP106 come la GTX 1060 normale per portatili, ma con velocità clock inferiori. Offre circa il 15% in meno di prestazioni ma i consumi sono molto più bassi.
Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.
