The Acer Aspire Vero offers solid eco-friendly power without expecting a fortune from consumers. Boasting surprisingly good performance metrics, a clear sound system, long-lasting battery life of nearly 13 hours and a crisp webcam, Acer’s latest Vero is a good pick for conscious buyers. However, it’s bogged down by an underwhelming display, mushy keyboard and subpar SSD. I’m also not the biggest fan of its design, but you’ll certainly enjoy the Cypress Green, Mariana Blue, or Volcanic Gray more. If you’re looking for a similarly priced laptop with a better display, we recommend the Asus Zenbook 14 OLED. Otherwise, the Aspire Vero is a good pick for those who want to make a more environmentally sound decision when purchasing a laptop.

If you need a simple laptop that can tackle office or homework, watch the occasional YouTube video, and play older or emulated games, the Acer Aspire Vero doesn’t fall flat in any of these departments. For $900, it’s a solid, mid-tier laptop. The 14-inch model is a bit stronger overall, but there are better options from a pure value standpoint. For battery life, the Dell XPS 13 9315 will net you twice as much (and a better screen and speakers) for $200 more. For $1,000 (though it often drops down to $900), you can pick up a similarly spec’ed Asus ZenBook 14 or even upgrade to the OLED model for the cost if you don’t mind a last-gen processor. EN→ITThe idea of buying a product that is made with specific efforts to rescue its environmental impact is appealing to many — and I, personally, appreciate the effort. It is also nice to see such care taken in producing such a product without expecting the consumer to make sacrifices on quality or usability. The Acer Aspire Vero accomplishes this task. It is a competent machine with above-average specifications that should be able to handle most of what anyone would want from it. It won't be a high-end gaming machine but it also does not come with that sort of price. Compared to other computers with similar equipment, its price actually comes in on the low side of $899.99. Laptops from competitors with 16 GB RAM, 1 TB of storage, a high-resolution display, and a 12th-generation, 10-core processor can easily exceed $1,200. While it is not itself aiming to appear to be a value product, it is a good value. It also has the good fortune of being packaged in an eco-friendly recycled plastic case that is attractive and appears to be just as durable.
