Brillante. Il più piccolo convertibile Acer ora è disponibile con un display Full-HD. La differenza di prezzo è di appena 30 Euro (~$37) e sembra valerne la pena. Ma l'autonomia della batteria è inferiore rispetto a prima e quanto è potente la nuova CPU? Nella nostra recensione, proviamo a dare delle risposte con uno sguardo attento anche al display.

EN→IT Archive.org versionIn many ways, this is a current-day netbook. It serves its purpose and has a very reasonable price tag, but it isn't entirely satisfying to use. You cannot really enjoy videos on this screen and even basic tasks require some adjustment. The keyboard is handy, but you can forget about typing long documents on it unless you're a hunt-and-peck two-finger typist anyway.

Switching between tablet and laptop use is easy, but the downside is that when it comes to actual performance, there are enough hiccups to make it a less than enjoyable experience, which is a shame. Still, the Switch 10 does get points for its portability factor, and is a good option for someone who wants the freedom to switch between a tablet or a laptop in a snap.

As a notebook, it leaves you wanting a better typing and touchpad experience, and it can be frustrating when the device leans back on its own due to the weight of the tablet.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): GPU Bay Trail SoCs integrata per tablet e notebook. Si basa sulla GPU Ivy Bridge con quattro Execution Units e supporta DirectX 11.
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
