Starting at $329, the Dell Venue 10 Pro is an affordable tablet for classroom education, featuring 9.5 hours of battery life and a bright screen. Just don't expect it to do a lot of things at the same time, as its performance is pretty weak. That might actually be a selling point, though, for teachers who want to prevent students from getting distracted by off-task apps and games.

As a tablet, the Venue 10 Pro is good, without being astounding. It's a little too heavy and chunky, while the quality of the screen could be better. It's also sufficient for use as a laptop if you purchase the optional keyboard dock. While Dell doesn’t have any UK pricing on their website, the prices of keyboard docks for older Dell tablets indicates that it may be over £150.

For the price you pay for the tablet, the Venue Keyboard and the Active Stylus, the 5055 offers a deal, just one that you'll have to treat with kid gloves. When you take a risk on a low-end device, you sometimes expect to be penalized for it down the road. As long as you make sure to take care when connecting power, and to give a firm hand when docking to the keyboard, the 5055 should be a good solution for your student's needs.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): GPU Bay Trail SoCs integrata per tablet e notebook. Si basa sulla GPU Ivy Bridge con quattro Execution Units e supporta DirectX 11.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
