Il capitolo sul prezzo (essendo un prodotto disponibile solo in importazione) è complesso da affrontare. Diciamo che il prezzo su strada è poco superiore ai 1000 euro, non un prezzo popolare ma (anche tenendo conto dell’assenza di supporto tecnico e della presenza di una garanzia limitata ai capricci del rivenditore) che sembra adeguato a quello che offre lo smartphone, davvero uno dei più completi sul mercato con il suo comparto fotografico straordinario ed il software curatissimo, che piaccia o meno. Lo consiglierei? Bisogna essere consapevoli dei limiti che inevitabilmente ci sono nello scegliere uno smartphone destinato ad un mercato diverso dal nostro, in primis Android auto e l’impossibilità di usare l’assistente Google. Valutate voi. Se cercate un camera phone pazzesco ma anche piacevole da utilizzare nel quotidiano e non avete bisogno di ciò che lo smartphone non può offrire, dategli una chance: non vi deluderà. Resta l’amarezza di non vendere uno smartphone del genere nel nostro mercato, uno smartphone che avrebbe potuto mettere in dubbio le certezze della concorrenza. Rimane la speranza un giorno di vedere invece un Vivo con una versione globalizzata di Origin OS al posto della Funtouch.

Un terminale che rasenta la perfezione, con i soli limiti dovuti al peso che si fa sentire e influisce sull’ergonomia, un software asiatico che deve essere necessariamente ottimizzato prima dell’utilizzo e del prezzo, che inevitabilmente è elevato. Elevato non in senso assoluto, perché ampiamente giustificato e in linea con tutto quello di ottimo abbiamo detto in precedenza, ma che può scoraggiare l’utenza meno avvezza a causa della reperibilità solo attraverso mercati paralleli e soprattutto della percezione del brand che in Europa non raggiunge i livelli di Apple, Samsung e Oppo. In ogni caso non possiamo che affermare per l’ennesima volta che Vivo X90 Pro+ è il miglior terminale mai testato dalla nostra redazione alla data attuale, e che difficilmente sarà spodestato nel corso di questo 2023.

The Vivo X90 Pro+ provided an overall average display performance for a flagship. The highlight of the smartphone’s screen was its color performance, where it achieved a top score for its consistently good and faithful color rendering in indoor and low-light conditions. The Vivo X90 Pro+’s screen colors maintained uniformity and color fidelity for the most part. In outdoor testing under direct sunlight, the device did not reach the 1800 nits of maximum brightness advertised. But when challenged to an extremely bright environment of more than 100K lux, the device’s screen attained 1500 nits. The X90 Pro+’s display performance stumbled when watching HDR10 videos because of low brightness levels and low contrast, which erased details from the content’s dark tones. In terms of brightness and contrast management in HDR videos, the Vivo X90 Pro actually outperformed the X90 Pro+. While high brightness mode generally improved the screen’s readability, it would degrade picture rendering when viewed under sunlight.

It's not the price, since even the 512 GB flagship is sold for just around $1,000. I'll tell you: The Vivo X90 Pro+ is only available in China and the processor gets pretty hot under full load. The China thing is actually not a problem either, TradingShenzhen supplies the device and the German and all other system languages are on board. But there are endless Chinese applications. But there are just as many cool features to discover with Origin OS 3.0. It definitely never gets boring with this smartphone and on top of that, you get one of the best cameras on top. If you can and want to make this compromise, you will probably have a lot of fun with the Vivo X90 Pro+.

The Vivo X90 Pro+ represents a significant evolution over last year’s Vivo X80 Pro as it is both the first smartphone we tested to come with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, and the first Vivo to use a 1-inch sensor in the main camera module. Like previous Vivo flagships, it also features Zeiss T* optical coating on the lenses. With such impressive camera hardware, it’s no surprise the Vivo X90 Pro+ offered quite detailed still images in our testing across all light conditions. The large 1-inch sensor’s ability to collect light was also noticeable in terms of image noise, which was well under control, especially in bright light and indoors. The X90 Pro+ photos also showed good exposure management as well as a fairly accurate white balance in most situations. We noticed some drawbacks when it came to color, though, with inaccurate rendering of dark skin tones in backlit scenes, as well as some color quantization under indoor lighting and lower illumination levels. In addition to the primary camera, the Vivo X90 Pro+ features an ultra-wide-angle module with a 14mm equivalent focal length, as well as two telephoto lenses equivalent to 50mm and 90mm. Overall, the vivo X90 is a pretty good camera phone that can handle both night and day fairly well. The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset and V2 ISP chip does speed up photo taking, but while the cameras can capture striking images, they can be a bit unreliable at times, especially where Bokeh or blurry background or portrait shots are involved. At RM3699 it’s still pretty pricey but considering that you’ll have to add on another RM1399 to get the X90 Pro with the 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor, this is acceptable if you’re looking for the latest vivo camera phone. In this price range, there aren't many new contenders for this year, except perhaps the OnePlus 11 which uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, up to 16GB RAM and 50MP triple rear cameras going for RM3599. Other smartphones would be mostly from last year but even then, there's plenty of choices, so it's all a matter of whether you're a vivo fan or not.

Okay, conclusion time – Well, the price of the Vivo X90 is at RM3,699 and I honestly have to say – it’s actually a good price. It’s a slight increase over the X80 from last year, which I think is reasonable, to be honest. Vivo X90 Pro infine ci ha anche convinto per un ottimo audio multimediale, non solo in riproduzione e in chiamata, ma anche in acquisizione video grazie al microfono dedicato posto all’interno del comparto cam, ed anche per un’autonomia non da primato, ma che in ogni caso ci ha portato a fine giornata senza affanno. Il software invece necessita di una razionalizzazione e di qualche implementazione, soprattutto per ciò che riguarda la gestione dell’always on, ma in ogni caso è aggiornato repentinamente e utilizzabile anche da utenti non esperti, con un po’ di pazienza e di curiosità nel cercare tra i vari sottomenù.

Un'ottima dotazione hardware e la ricarica rapida a 120 Watt sono le altre frecce all'arco di uno smartphone top di gamma in tutto e per tutto, che però non è così semplice da consigliare a scatola chiusa. Il prezzo rimane alto per un brand ancora in fase di crescita come Vivo, e la competizione nel segmento è parecchio agguerrita: con cifre analoghe ci si porta a casa flagship magari anche più rifiniti e con fotocamere comunque eccellenti. Se le foto sono la vostra priorità però, Vivo X90 Pro è il primo nome da segnarsi sulla lista in ambito Android.

Innanzitutto si tratta di un vero cameraphone, in grado di convincere anche gli utenti più attenti a foto e video, ma è anche curato a livello di costruzione, grazie a materiali di pregio come la pelle vegana. Tra i punti di forza troviamo la ricarica rapida a 120W e wireless a 50W, oltre a un buon display AMOLED a 120Hz, Wi-Fi 6 e 5G. Le prestazioni sono garantite dal potente MediaTek Dimensity 9200 5G e non manca la certificazione IP68. Dal lato opposto, vivo X90 Pro ha anche sporgenza delle fotocamere molto elevata e peso e dimensioni non sono contenuti. Sono però soprattutto l'autonomia nella media, l'unica colorazione Legendary Black e la fotocamera per i selfie a far storcere il naso. Aspetti che non interesseranno forse tutti, ma a fronte di un prezzo di 1.199 euro è giusto anche trovare l'ago nel pagliaio. In ogni caso, se cercate un cameraphone per la prossima estate, potreste averlo trovato.

Probabilmente però è un errore effettuare il confronto con il modello 2022 alla luce della presenza, nella lineup dell'azienda cinese, di X90 Pro Plus, lui si erede diretto dell'X80 Pro. Come spesso accade per gli smartphone top di gamma recenti, nel valutarli bisogna scontrarsi preventivamente con il prezzo di listino, che per il Vivo X90 Pro è di 1.299 euro. Sono cifre che sconfinano in territori occupati dai flagship di Apple e Samsung e che, nell’utente comune, più di un pensiero lo generano per forza di cose. Bisogna però riconoscere a Vivo una certa dose di coraggio nel proporre un processore Mediatek top di gamma che “non fa moda” ma che non lesina affatto sulle prestazioni (anzi), e una notevole personalità nell’affidargli un processore d’immagine fatto in casa che non ha fatto sentire alcuna mancanza. Significa avere contezza delle proprie possibilità, specie se a puntare su queste tecnologie c’è anche un nome come Zeiss, che non è solo un’etichetta sul retro del telefono, ma un collaboratore hardware e software. L’X90 Pro cattura la scena soprattutto per quel sensore da 1” per la camera principale, che è la vera star del telefono. Difficile trovargli un difetto. Va bene di giorno, va bene di notte: quando c’è lui la foto è assicurata anche grazie allo Zero-Shutter-Lag Motion Snapshot. È evidente che Vivo vuole fare le cose per bene e farsi largo offrendo qualcosa che gli altri non hanno. Quindi dispiace un po’ per l’audio non ai vertici dei top di gamma e per quel leggero banding dello schermo che compare con una bassissima luminosità e solo su alcune finestre del tema scuro. C’è anche quel lieve problema di vibrazione sulla camera 2x che però non incide sugli scatti. Inoltre, la fotografia esce un po’ meglio dal confronto con il video, anche se la stabilizzazione dell’orizzonte bisogna provarla per rendersi conto di cosa sia in grado di fare. Il resto dell’X90 Pro consegna all’utente un telefono con pochi difetti e con tanti pregi, per esempio il processore Mediatek che non ti aspetti e che non ha mai offerto il fianco a prestazioni scadenti. Ovviamente ci sono sempre quei 1.299 euro di listino che fanno tentennare, però il sensore Sony da 1”, la cura di Zeiss, la carica da 120 W e una certa sicurezza termica del telefono hanno un prezzo determinato anche da scelte ben precise, e molto più lungimiranti di altri marchi.

Vivo X90 Pro è uno smartphone eccellente, soprattutto per la sua vocazione fotografica, che si capisce fino da subito anche dal suo design. Abbiamo poi anche un software completo e una ricarica fulminea. Qualcuno potrebbe storcere un po' il naso per il processore Mediatek invece che Qualcomm, ma a conti fatti non c'è una grande differenza. Fa la differenza invece il prezzo, non aumentato, ma comunque alto, che potrebbe scoraggiare qualcuno dall'approcciarsi ad uno smartphone di qualità, ma di un marchio meno affermato nel nostro paese.

Come abbiamo detto ad inizio articolo anche questo smartphone è un po’ vittima del 2023, il prezzo è elevato e in mancanza di offerte non avrà vita facile. La qualità del prodotto però c’è, Vivo si conferma capace di realizzare smartphone ad altissimo livello e con una rifinitura migliore del software potrebbe costituire un’alternativa seria e credibile ai brand più blasonati.

Non facile tirare le conclusioni su questo Vivo X90 Pro perchè ci troviamo davanti ad uno smartphone completissimo, posso sindacare soltanto su una selfie camera non all'altezza degli altri TOP e su ben poco altro considerando che lo smartphone va bene in tutti gli ambiti analizzati. Vero non abbiamo il supporto futuro al WiFi 7 ma stiamo davvero andando a cercare il pelo nell'uovo e se qualche anno fa si era scettisci su Vivo per quanto riguarda gli aggiornamenti ora con la politica di aggiornamento mensile ci siamo levati ogni dubbio sulla cura che c'è anche post lancio di un prodotto. Vivo per quanto ancora nel mercato italiano sia sulle punte dei piedi sta lavorando bene senza lanciare troppi prodotti e curandoli nei dettagli, certo che il prezzo di listino per questo X90 Pro recita 1299€ per l'unica versione 12/256GB, un prezzo in realtà in linea se non inferiore ad alcuni top di gamma come Xiaomi 13 Pro ma proprio come questo restando dubbi su chi decide di spendere tutti questi soldi per un brand che per quanto offra prodotti di altissima qualità deve ancora farsi conoscere in Italia. Qualche bundle aggressivo o uno sconto al lancio avrebbe aiutato di certo ma per ora l'unica cosa che possiamo fare è attendere uno street price leggermente più vantaggioso come su Amazon qualche giorno fa a 160€ in meno, anche perchè S23 e Xiaomi 13 sono già in caduta libera. E voi cosa ne pensate di questo Vivo X90 Pro?

Barring the drawbacks, the Vivo X90 Pro is an excellent flagship smartphone with an emphasis on camera performance. This phone has the fastest shutter speed (in sports mode) that I have ever used on a phone. On top of that, it also offers plenty of modes to play around with, allowing users to capture a photo in their style. While I prefer Vivo’s colour science, the Zeiss natural colour 2.0 mode does offer true-to-life-looking pictures, which can be further edited as per the requirement. On top of that, it also has a handheld astro mode and night sports mode, which allows users to capture stable pictures of moving subjects even in low-light situations. To summarize, the Vivo X90 Pro has both hardware and software and even the Zeiss T* lens coating, making it the perfect phone for shutterbugs. If you are looking for a camera-first flagship smartphone in 2023, the Vivo X90 Pro is an easy pick.

Vivo's X series has a reputation of offering a unique photography experience and the new X90 Pro is no different. The rear primary and portrait camera sensors deliver excellent performance. Photos taken by the main camera at times felt like they were captured using a dedicated camera. System performance, display quality and battery life with quick charging are very good as well. The phone has a premium design and comes with an IP68 rating. However, there are a few misses along the way in the Vivo X90 Pro which do stack up, especially when you factor in the price. The ultra-wide camera is not very impressive and we feel that the X80 Pro did a much better job. We weren't too happy with the processed images from the selfie camera either when using Portrait mode. Other misses would be the lack of a periscope camera, a lower-resolution and non-LTPO display, and an optical fingerprint sensor instead of ultrasonic — all of which are present on the Vivo X80 Pro, which is still available and is a bit cheaper. The competition has also caught up. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Review) has set a benchmark when it comes to providing a versatile camera experience, but it's also quite a bit more expensive. The Xiaomi 13 Pro (Review) is probably the closest competitor to the X90 Pro right now and apart from not having an official IP rating in India, it easily matches (and exceeds in some areas) the performance of the X90 Pro while costing a bit less. There is also the Google Pixel 7 Pro (Review) which offers an excellent camera system and a unique software experience.

You can even shoot a portfolio using its RAW mode. While the camera is the standout feature, the phone performs well in day-to-day usage, with a decent battery life that can last a day if usage is moderate. Additionally, the 120W fast charging support refills the battery up to 50 per cent in less than 8 minutes, which solves half of the problems one can face. The design of the phone is premium, but the camera bump may pose an issue. The bloatware, as with previously launched Vivo phones, remains within the ecosystem. The Vivo X90 Pro is priced at Rs 84,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB variant, which is on the higher side. Although the price is competitive, the smartphone would be even more desirable at a slightly lower price. Overall, I had a great experience with the Vivo X90 Pro, particularly while testing out its camera in majestic Vietnam. It is a great tool for people looking to improve their photography skills as it will compel you to explore your interest in photography if you haven't already.

The Vivo X90 Pro provided an overall average display performance, boosted mostly by its high marks in color. Although color performance did not match the Vivo’s X90 Pro+ version, it was the device’s strongest attribute, with consistently good and faithful color rendering in indoor and low-light conditions. The Vivo X90 Pro’s screen colors maintained uniformity and color fidelity for the most part. In outdoor testing under direct sunlight, the device did not reach the 1300 nits of maximum brightness advertised. But when challenged to an extremely bright environment of more than 100K lux, the device’s screen attained 1000 nits. The X90 Pro provided a much better HDR10 video-watching experience than the X90 Pro+ version by displaying a good level of details when viewed in indoor lighting conditions. However, video performance did not reach the level of its predecessor, the X80 Pro. The display’s performance when playing video games was hampered by aliasing and visible frame drops.

This doesn't even translate into a phenomenal battery life, which I found somewhat great. That said, the 120W charging speed is something you get used to way too quickly, allowing me to fully charge it during breakfast every morning. If you want a nice-looking flagship with an incredible camera and charging at ludicrous speeds — and you're okay with all the software issues I described — the Vivo X90 Pro is a good choice.

The same was said about the X80 Pro last year, and that proved very tricky to find in the UK, so we’re hoping things have improved for 2023. We only know Malaysian pricing, at 4,999 MYR (about £950), so it’s going to command a premium figure once it gets to Blighty. Still, if you prefer close-ups and bokeh blur to zoomed-in snaps, it’ll be well worth tracking one down.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Qualcomm Adreno 740:

Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Qualcomm sostiene che è più veloce del 25% rispetto all'Adreno 730 dello Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 e i primi benchmark mostrano che la GPU è in grado di battere l'iGPU A16 di Apple (in precedenza la GPU più veloce per smartphone). 

ARM Immortalis-G715 MP11:

L'ARM Immortalis-G715MC11 è una scheda grafica integrata di fascia alta per smartphones con 11 dei 16 possibili cores. Si basa sulla terza generazione dell'architettura Valhall di ARM e offre prestazioni superiori del 15% rispetto alla generazione precedente. La G715 è la prima GPU mobile con supporto hardware ray tracing e supporta anche l'ombreggiatura a velocità variabile (VRS).

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

SoC di fascia alta per smartphone presentato alla fine del 2022 con un veloce core principale basato su architettura ARM Cortex-X3 che funziona fino a 3,2 GHz. Altri due core ad alte prestazioni sono basati sull'A715 e supportano solo applicazioni a 64 bit. Anche gli altri due core A710 supportano applicazioni a 32 bit, così come i core Cortex-A510 a risparmio energetico. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC incorpora un modem WiFi 7, un DSP Hexagon (per l'accelerazione AI) e un ISP Spectra. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta la memoria LPDDR5x veloce fino a 4200 MHz. Il 5G è incluso nel chip con il modem Snapdragon X70.
