Come dicevo all'inizio è un prodotto che rimane un pochino nel limbo a causa di un prezzo e che trascina con sé anche il fratello maggiore. Va abbastanza bene da rischiare di preferirlo al Pro, risparmiando 300 euro, ma allo stesso tempo è più costoso di alcune alternative che offrono caratteristiche in alcuni casi migliori ad un prezzo più basso. Senza allontanarci dal brand, lo stesso Find X3 Pro, ora disponibile ad un listino di 799 euro, può essere considerato come il principale concorrente. È un vero peccato, lo smartphone va davvero bene e al giusto prezzo poteva essere l'occasione per Oppo per spaccare la fascia alta. Ora come ora è quindi difficile consigliarlo ma teniamo d'occhio lo street price perché sotto agli 800 euro avrà tutto un altro sapore.

Fidatevi: Oppo Find X5 non è proprio il “fratello minore” della versione Pro in quanto le differenze non sono così tante. Mi ha sorpreso in ogni contesto, Oppo ha voluto puntare molto in alto con questo smartphone grazie alla scheda tecnica e con le ottime prestazioni. Ha un design iconico in linea con l filosofia OPPO e anche molto simile al modello Pro. La scocca realizzata in vetro opaco restituisce un feedback fantastico ed lo rende molto maneggevole essendo anche più compatto e leggero della versione Pro. Non ha l’ultimo chipset, ma lo Snapdragon 888 è pressoché perfetto per tutte le operazioni e ancora considerabile un ottimo top-gamma visto che molti dispositivi top gamma del 2021 lo utilizzano ancora senza problemi. Ha ottime performance, gestisce il multitasking, mantiene le temperature sotto controllo e garantisce il massimo delle prestazioni. Il comparto fotografico non ha nulla da invidiare ai top di gamma del 2022 e il chipset proprietario MariSilicon X fa un ottimo lavoro e riesce a recuperare scatti che sarebbero stati difficili da gestire senza le tecnologie di OPPO.

In un quadro generale non dei più rosei per il mercato smartphone, un dispositivo come OPPO Find X5 ci voleva. Si fa infatti riferimento a un telefono che convince particolarmente a livello di comparto fotografico, garantendo all'utente la possibilità di fare tutto, ottimi scatti notturni compresi, senza dover essere degli esperti. Non è tuttavia solamente questo aspetto a risultare interessante, in quanto la soluzione di OPPO è completa a 360 gradi. Ci sono una ricarica a 80W con alimentatore incluso in confezione (nonché a 30W via wireless), un ottimo schermo AMOLED con refresh rate di 120 Hz e un reparto connettività che include Wi-Fi 6, 5G, Dual SIM ed eSIM. Non deludono le prestazioni offerte dal SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 888, anche se l'adozione di quest'ultimo si fa un po' sentire in termini di autonomia (ma nulla di trascendentale: la maggior parte degli utenti non avrà problemi). Se proprio vogliamo trovare l'ago nel pagliaio, non si può espandere la memoria interna e manca la certificazione IP68 (qui si arriva alla IP54), ma capite bene che i pregi superano agevolmente i difetti.

Un dispositivo potente, bello e relativamente compatto, dotato di un comparto cam eccellente e di un sistema di ricarica rapido evoluto, oltre che di un ottimo display. È da preferire al modello Pro se si cerca un risparmio ( che ricordiamo essere di 300 Euro ) e qualcosa di più maneggevole. Se invece non volete compromessi in merito a display e ultime tecnologie, dovrete optare per la versione top. Oppo Find X5 5G ci è piaciuto moltissimo poiché equilibrato e dotato di un ottimo design, anche se costoso. Ci sentiamo di consigliarlo a tutti coloro che vogliono possedere un terminale affidabile, prestante e maneggevole.

Design accattivante, un ottimo display, prestazioni da top di gamma e un comparto fotografico completo, che beneficia per altro della collaborazione con Hasselblad. A Oppo Find X5 non manca davvero niente. E’ un top di gamma fatto e finito, che può contare su un form factor più compatto e su un peso più contenuto. Quale scegliere quindi tra lui e Oppo Find X5 Pro? Dipende da voi. Il Pro offre indubbiamente qualcosa di più in termini di performance, resa dello schermo e capacità fotografiche ma non è detto che abbiate effettivamente bisogno di tutto questo. Se sono elementi che per voi non fanno la differenza, allora Oppo Find X5 potrebbe essere la scelta giusta.

Avete visto chiaramente le differenze che ci sono ma non sono così esagerate e possiamo ammettere facilmente che chi non ha la pretesa di volere davvero il massimo in tutto dallo smartphone potrà accontentarsi (e non è sicuramente un accontentarsi) di questo OPPO Find X5 che ha il sapore più di un top di gamma e non farà rimpiangere la versione Pro.

Il suo prezzo è di 1.000 euro, troppi. Va bene, senza dubbio, tutti ormai vanno bene ma qui ho trovato certe sbavature che visti i prezzi mi fanno assolutamente preferire il Pro, più bello e con lo Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 che si sta rivelando decisamente più efficiente. Insomma, 300 euro su 1.000 non incidono più così tanto e le differenze ci sono. Vedremo come andrà X5 Lite, che a 500 euro potrebbe diventare un ottimo medio gamma!

Era del vecchio X3 che non provavo un Oppo, e ricordo questa casa produttrice quando ancora non era “occidentalizzata” e i primi smartphone andavano importati dalla Cina tramite rivenditori e giri assurdi. Questa “nuova Oppo” mi piace, sta spingendo molto e si sta ritagliando una gran fetta di mercato in un certo senso entrando dove Huawei non può più essere e dove forse non sarà mai più. Spesso infatti si paragona Oppo alla “nuova Huawei” e credo non ci sia niente di più giusto. Tornando Find X5 Pro: è un telefono eccezionale, un vero top di gamma con Hardware da paura, ben ottimizzato e performante. La fotocamera, critica personale per i ritratti a parte, è ottima sopratutto nella resa dei colori. Perfetto il display. Il software è oggettivamente molto buono per essersi comunque affacciato sul mercato occidentale (che ha esigenze e abitudine molto diverse da quello orientale), ha ancora un retrogusto asiatico, ma sono certo che arriverà a sorprendermi nel giro di poco. Il prezzo è il tasto dolente.

The Find X5 is a great phone. Aesthetically pleasing and effortlessly functional, using the phone is a seamless user experience. Perhaps in part because of this, it’s very easy to forget that a lot of effort and high spec componentry went into making it ‘just work’. You can find yourself thinking that the price of $1,399.00 is a bit high. I think we all wish that the gadget we are after was a lower price, but in this case, given the experience, the display, the battery life and the hardware provided by this phone justifies the cost. The only real downside to this phone is the lack of expandable storage, you only get 242GB of available space and while that might seem like a lot initially it will fill up quickly and you’re left with no option to add space. It seems strange for a phone at this price point in 2022 to have no capability for an SD card. If the Oppo Find X5 ticks all the boxes you can purchase one from Oppo directly via their website and also from the usual in person and online stores.

I would definitely recommend the Oppo Find X5 and actually, I think it’s a better buy than the Pro model if you don’t want such a big screen, you don’t mind losing out a little on display quality and you're not fussed about your next phone being waterproof.

At this price, it’s hard to criticise the Oppo Find X5. It looks good, feels very well built, has a bright, vivid screen that’s great for entertainment, brilliant cameras on the whole, and performs just as well as any flagship. No matter how hard you push it, there’s never any stutter or lag. It is possible to find areas where improvements could have been made, though not necessarily at this price. Chief among these is the lack of an IP rating, so you need to be careful not to get the phone too wet. The cheaper Pixel 6 as well as the more expensive Galaxy S22 are both IP68 rated. The Find X5 isn’t alone though: the Xiaomi 12 also isn't IP-rated. Elsewhere, you could find cause to moan about the fact storage isn’t expandable and that the 256GB model is the only choice. You might even say the Find X5 is a little too expensive and that the telephoto lens has only a 2x zoom. But with rivals failing to offer anything noticeably better for the same cost, the X5 surely deserves a place on your short list along with those already mentioned, plus others such as the OnePlus 10 Pro.

If the price was right, the Oppo Find X5 could have been an easy recommendation. It's a solid flagship with a decently-sized display with all the bells and whistles. If we need to get nit-picky, we would have appreciated a zoom camera with a further reach as most of the Find X5's competitors go beyond 2x. But the sad reality is that Oppo's brand recognition is what gets in the way. The company is trying to sell the handset at a price close to €1,000, which is a barrier only a few manufacturers dare to cross. And those are usually the ones that made a name for themselves. Oppo may be a premium brand in China, but it struggles to compete with the likes of Samsung, Apple and even Xiaomi. In fact, the sister OEM OnePlus still hasn't crossed that line. If the Find X5 gets a significant price cut down the road, it might be worth considering. For now, it's asking way too much for being a nice phone but not a great flagship.

It swaps the Pro’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset for the slightly older Snapdragon 888 and comes with a slightly smaller and lower-resolution display, but the camera hardware and specs look very similar to the top-of-the-line model’s. Like for the X5 Pro, Swedish camera makers Hasselblad have contributed to the development and a Marisilicon X neural processing unit helps with image processing. Both primary and ultra-wide cameras feature 50MP 1/1.56″ image sensors, while the 12MP tele unit uses a smaller 1/3.4″ sensor. Qualcomm Adreno 660:

Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet integrato nel Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Qualcomm sostiene che è più veloce del 35% rispetto all'Adreno 650 dello Snapdragon 865 SoC e offre un'efficienza energetica migliore del 20%. Per Android dovrebbe essere una delle schede grafiche più veloci nel 2021.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

SD 888 5G:

SoC di fascia alta per smartphone che è stato introdotto alla fine del 2020 e prodotto in 5 nm presso Samsung. Integra un "Prime Core" basato su un'architettura ARM Cortex-X1 con clock fino a 2,84 GHz. Altri tre core di prestazioni sono basati sull'A78 ma con clock fino a 2,42 GHz. Inoltre, sono integrati quattro core a risparmio energetico basati sull'architettura ARM Cortex-A55 con clock fino a 1,8 GHz. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC integra un modem WiFi 6e, un DSP Hexagon 780 DSP (fino a 26 TOPS di prestazioni AI) e un ISP Spectra 580. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta ora una memoria LPDDR5 più veloce con fino a 3.200 MHz. Il 5G è ora incluso nel chip con il modem Snapdragon X60.
