Anche i tempi di ricarica sono ottimi: in poco più di un'ora, grazie all'alimentatore con ricarica rapida da 20W incluso in confezione, lo smartphone sarà ricaricato fino al 100%. Tengo a precisare che Motorola Edge 20 supporta ricarica TurboPower da 30W, quindi con un alimentatore adatto ci sarebbero margini di miglioramento sui tempi di ricarica. Nonostante tutto, però, per me è pienamente promosso sotto l’aspetto dell’autonomia e della ricarica. Non è previsto il supporto per la ricarica wireless. In conclusione, Motorola Edge 20 è un dispositivo che offre tanti punti d'interesse, dall'estetica alle prestazioni, dal display ad alto refresh rate alla lunga autonomia, fino al comparto fotografico. Non è perfetto, ma si avvicina così tanto che sentiamo di consigliarlo a chiunque cerchi uno smartphone mid-range e duraturo. Secondo me il prezzo di listino non è a fuoco, ma se riuscite a trovarlo in offerta (come lo è adesso su Amazon a 320 euro) potrebbe diventare un best-buy.

Il nuovo Motorola Edge 20 arriva sul mercato alquanto agguerrito, anche se ovviamente deve i fare i conti con alcune pecche importanti. Lo schermo non è molto luminoso, il processore non è il migliore che si possa acquistare oggi e c'è un solo speaker montato nella parte bassa del dispositivo. I punti a favore però sono certamente maggiori rispetto a queste sbavature: abbiamo un ottimo schermo OLED a 144 Hz con spazio colore P3 e compatibilità con HDR10+, una ricarica via cavo a 30 W, Android 11 di base e un comparto fotografico che saprà darvi discrete soddisfazioni nell'uso quotidiano. Non bisogna dimenticare la dotazione di memoria, 8/256 GB, la presenza del 5G, del chip NFC e delle ultime tecnologie WiFi, il tutto in uno chassis che convince: non troppo spesso, maneggevole, con un frontale a tutto schermo senza notch e con un piccolo foro per la fotocamera. Manca la porta Jack da 3,5 mm ma in confezione trovate un comodo adattatore USB-C. Motorola ha pensato a ogni minimo dettaglio per darvi a 579,90 euro di listino un prodotto completo e bilanciato per qualità e prezzo.

Motorola Edge 20 ha una sua chiave di lettura che è tutta nella sua sottigliezza e nella sua leggereza, senza compromettere particolarmente l'autonomia. Il prezzo però è alto e la fotocamera, che grazie a tre ottimi sensori sulla carta doveva essere il suo punto di forza, è però la sua debolezza. Almeno fino ad un possibile aggiornamento e un auspicabile calo di prezzo.

Non per ultima la cam, che è di 108 Mp e molto migliorata rispetto alla precedente generazione di Moto Edge, seppur ancora non ai livelli dei top brand, soprattutto in condizioni di luminosità difficili. Motorola ha dimostrato di essere una azienda dinamica ed intelligente, accogliendo quelle che erano state le maggiori richieste dei propri utenti. Ovvero una fotocamera migliore, una ricarica rapida ed un display bello e luminoso, racchiusi in un design premium. Il tutto tagliando e non poco i prezzi rispetto alla precedente generazione di Moto Edge. Da applausi. Moto Edge 20 5G è un terminale che ci è piaciuto, e ci ha dato soddisfazioni, equilibrato e diverso dalla massa.

Un prezzo di 499€ forse l'avremmo accolto con un occhio diverso, ma ci arriverà. Per il momento i 579€ di listino lo mettono in quel limbo dove costa troppo per chi vuole un medio gamma risparmiando qualcosa ma allo stesso tempo non è paragonabile ai top che costano di più. Nell'uso quotidiano io l'ho trovato veramente ottimo, affidabile e leggero, peccato per le cam un po' sottotono e per il feed della vibrazione. È comunque un telefono super usabile, grazie anche alle motorolate e decisamente equilibrato. Provando il Lite e il Pro vedremo chi ha più senso ma per il momento lui mi è piaciuto molto!

The first thing that drew me towards the Motorola Edge 20 is its flat-edge design, its slim form factor. Unlike a lot of phones nowadays that can be used as paperweights, or to hammer nails, the Edge 20 is delightfully lightweight. It also fits well in hands, and its flat edges mean it is unlikely to slip out. The phone has an impressive display with great viewing angles. On the performance front too, the Moto Edge 20 does not disappoint at all. You can throw whatever tasks you want to at the phone it will come out with flying colours. Even the camera in good light is lovely to use. But at the same time, there are aspects that I feel could have been better. Battery life is on the lower side compared to what others provide in this segment. The low-light performance of cameras is another pain point. I feel the mono speaker to holds the phone back. A stereo speaker setup here would have been great. Overall, I feel that the Edge 20 is one of the best in the segment but with a few misses.

Motorola Edge 20 is in many ways one of the interesting mid-range models. I appreciated it primarily for its great screen, providing a lot of space for work or using multimedia, great accessories supplied with the Moto application and pure Android, which ensured a high comfort of work. It's impossible not to pay attention to the slim design - Edge 20 is simply a very attractive device. The smartphone powers the new Qualcomm chip, Snapdragon 778G, in addition, you can use the Ready For platform - this will allow you to work with the smartphone in desktop mode. The cameras won't let you down either. What can you complain about? First of all, the lack of a 3.5 mm mini-jack and the unimpressive battery capacity. Compared to the competition, the Edge 20 lacks stereo speakers or support for a microSD card. On the market Motorola Edge 20 will be a direct competition for models such as Samsung Galaxy A52 5G or A72, as well as Xiaomi Note 10 Pro and OnePlus Nord 2 5G.

The second-generation Edge series feels like a departure from what the original meant for Motorola. But, actually, we can't be forlorn about a lack of a curved edge screen because, well, nobody really needs one of those. Besides, the Edge 20's display - on account of its clarity, colour and refresh rate - is its standout selling point. Talk about flipping the story on its head. In many ways the Edge 20 is a refreshing mid-range choice: it's not a giant overthick slab that puts battery capacity ahead of aesthetics; it's not got bloated software that causes issues with the basics; it's not crammed with pointless cameras either. So much of the competition explores those gimmicks, but Motorola simply hasn't here. It would be easy to malign the Edge 20 for turning the series on its head. But, despite the competition being increasingly strong, consider this device for all its strengths in this section of the market and it's a genuine winner. You won't often find an untainted Android experience like this with a screen quite as super at this price point.

Overall, this phone got almost all the basics right except for the cameras where a few aspects can still be improved on. But besides that, this is surprisingly a bang-for-your-buck mid-tier smartphone from Motorola. You get that stunning OLED display, water-resistant body, deliverable performance, 5G connectivity, long-lasting battery life, and not to forget its Stock Android offering. Thumbs up on this one.

If you compare the Edge 20 Pro with older smartphone reviews, reduce them by two points. The Motorola Edge 20 starts at a pass mark. Add the partial (no USB-C cable) implementation of ‘ready for’, its two Android version upgrades, a great (although not perfect) camera, solid battery life, excellent phone reception and support from Motorola Australia, and it is more than a match. It is only the IP52 rating that disappoints. If you have $699 to spend, there is no competition. It gets the tick.

Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet che è integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G. Qualcomm sostiene che è il 40% più veloce dell'Adreno 620.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
