EN→IT Archive.org versionOverall, the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11 is a decent notebook that just works. It's great for surfing the Net, getting work done and playing light games. It also starts up really fast which is always an advantage when you need to use the notebook on the go. There isn't much to dislike about the Edge 11. We were only bothered by the short battery life and the rather tiny arrow keys. The price is also reasonable. For RM2,099 you will be getting a sturdy business-class notebook with decent specifications. Overall, Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 11 is a pretty good notebook without bells and whistles.

The battery life is a disappointing 4 hours, 20 minutes and that is not even good enough to get most tasks done since that was on the lowest power settings. That means doing work while on the road might be a little inconvenient. Overall, the Edge 11 from Lenovo is a decent laptop that offers nice features.

However, the fact that the guys at Lenovo decided to go for the glossy finish and screen is a break dealer for me. I've had my fair share of glossiness and enough is enough. Those small details do make the difference, and if Lenovo would decide to offer a matte version of this ThinkPad Edge 11, I'm pretty sure I'd be one of its biggest advocates.

We'd liked to have seen the inclusion of USB 3.0, and the trackpad could be bigger, but our criticisms are few and far between.

I was very disappointed with the roughly 4 hours of run time I got from this computer, and if battery life is a consideration, you might want to look elsewhere — or at least pick up a spare battery. On the other hand, if you’re looking for one of the most powerful 11.6 inch laptops around and you happen to live in a country where the ThinkPad Edge 11 is available, it’s certainly a laptop worth putting on your short list.

If red is not your color, then you can also get a matte or a glossy black finish. Overall, the notebook looks really smooth provided you ignore the battery sticking out of it back.

However, the Edge does have long battery life, a comfortable keyboard and is very reasonably priced at £410 ex VAT. Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.
Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.
Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Intel Core i3:
380UM: Il Core i3-380UM è un processore ultra low voltage a risparmio energetico per portatili senza Turbo Boost e funzioni AES (rispetto alle CPUs i5 ed i7 UM). Grazie all'Hyperthreading, 4 threads possono essere processati simultaneamente. Nel pacchetto sono incluse anche una scheda grafica integrata (Intel HD Graphics da 166-500 MHz) ed un controller di memoria DDR3-800.
AMD Athlon II Neo:
K325: Processore con due cores di livello base, controller di memoria DDR3 integrato ed un clock rate basso progettato per i subnotebooks.
K125: Lento processore single core di fascia bassa per portatili piccoli e leggeri. Ma comunque più veloce rispetto ai sistemi Atom based da 1.6 Ghz.
Intel Pentium:
U5400: CPU dual core di fascia bassa della serie Arrandale. Non supporta il Turbo Boost (per la CPU), l'Hyperthreading, la Virtualizzazione e l'AES. A causa della bassa velocità clock, le prestazioni sono sufficienti solo per le applicazioni meno pesanti.
