É un computer, come detto, per un utilizzo generalista, non pensate di farci dei render pesanti in poco tempo, non pensate di giocare a Fortnite a 200 fps ma pensate che a 599 euro lui può essere un compagno quotidiano che per uso studentesco, per la navigazione Web e per tutti quegli impieghi che non necessitano di una scheda grafica dedicata particolarmente potente, io comunque un Full HD sono riuscito a montarlo tranquillamente. Insomma, così come mi era piaciuto il Matebook D 14″ di Huawei, mi piace ancora di più questo, nonostante non abbia i 512Gb di memoria SSD. Chi non ha bisogno di grandissimo spazio di archiviazione troverà in questo Honor MagicBook 14″ un best buy.

Insomma, il rapporto qualità/prezzo c'è tutto, si può tranquillamente chiudere un occhio sull'utilizzo di un processore AMD non di ultima generazione. Insomma, Honor ha fatto centro.

MagicBook 14 è esattamente il notebook che vorresti da un'azienda come Honor: aggressivo in tutto, nel design, nelle prestazioni, nel prezzo. Non ci sono particolari criticità: siamo davanti ad un prodotto già maturo, che non sacrifica nulla. Dai materiali alla tastiera, dalle finiture alle qualità audio, dal display all'autonomia. Un vero tuttofare insomma, con i soli limiti imposti da un processore AMD non di ultima generazione, ma comunque capace di tenere testa ai pari fascia di Intel, soprattutto sul fronte ludico. In una fascia quantomai combattuta, Honor MagicBook 14 rappresenta una delle migliori alternative del momento, ma la concorrenza (casalinga) è sempre in agguato.

HONOR improved the aesthetics, but halved the storage and number of speakers when moving from the HONOR MagicBook to the HONOR MagicBook 14. The screen is dimmer and the battery is smaller here than it was on the HONOR MagicBook too. They also increased the price by a rather significant RM200 to RM2499, which makes it much less than the original HONOR MagicBook. I do find it an absolutely unnecessary refresh especially as they kept the same chipset from the HONOR MagicBook, when the AMD Ryzen 4000 series processors are already widely available.

If you’re a creator on-the-go, I’d say up your budget and get something closer to the MateBook 13 which I’ve been using as a daily driver that has a better balance between performance and portability. As far as I am aware, the HONOR MagicBook is probably one of the most affordable laptops offering the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U APU along with 8GB RAM and 512GB of storage, with a price tag of just RM2299. Even when looking beyond the hardware specifications, there is quite a lot to love from this diminutive 1.45 kg laptop. The speakers are great and the battery life is amazing, and then there’s HONOR Magic-Link which is an awesome feature to have on if you own a HUAWEI or HONOR smartphone. If you are looking for an affordable laptop that’s portable and yet pack enough performance for your daily computing and sufficient battery life to last you the day, the HONOR MagicBook is the one to get.

The display looks pretty great and sharp at this size and resolution, and I have no major complaints about the colors.
