If you’re on a tight budget and need a phone that will withstand some punishment then the S40 is worth a look, but you’d be better off investing a little more cash and getting the Doogee S90 or AGM A9.

Come vi stavo accennando, Doogee S68 Pro ha un costo di circa 28o euro su Amazon (nel momento in cui sto scrivendo questa recensione). Un prezzo che si potrebbe pensare “alto” ma che rispecchia senza dubbio la sua scheda tecnica e la grande resistenza di questo smartphone. Insomma, se fate un lavoro dove lo smartphone è continuamente esposto a rischi e non siete i tipi da belle foto sui social, allora questo smartphone è una sicurezza! Sicuramente meglio che acquistare smartphone di 150 euro ogni 3 mesi perché li rompete continuamente a lavoro.

Negli anni ci siamo fatti un’idea ben precisa sugli smartphone rugged: dispositivi super resistenti e con tanta batteria, ma carenti sotto gli altri punti di vista. In parte devo dire che è vero, smartphone del genere sono pensati per chi ha bisogno di un dispositivo solido che duri tutto il giorno. DOOGEE S95 è però una voce fuori dal coro perché non solo è in grado di offrire più funzionalità per chi lo usa sul lavoro, ma adotta anche alcune caratteristiche tecniche interessanti come una fotocamera da 48MP, un grande display da 6.3″ ed un hardware di tutto rispetto per il gaming. Ma non è tutto oro quello che luccica: vi spiego perché!

Doogee itself says that the phone has an 18-day standby. I guess maybe in Airplane mode this would be possible, however, I did not test this. It also claims 10-hour use for constant video viewing or gaming, and 28 hours of talk time. For me, I am just happy that it can get through almost three days of normal use without needing a charger. The Easy key allowed me to map the Camera to it, so we can forgive the lack of a dedicated camera button in this case. Like I said earlier, this phone is mostly for a specific use case. I would recommend it to construction workers who find it important to have a smartphone on hand, they can toss it around and rinse it under the tap and it will still keep working. However, it is a shame that Doogee makes such a product and then will only back it with support for one year. At $399, it's a good buy, but not for the touted $599.99 MSRP. Maybe Doogee would be able to offer a better experience if it settled for a mid-range camera experience and with a higher-end SoC and display, but that's wishful thinking.

To me, the Doogee S89 Pro is an interesting device. It starts with a fairly decent set of specifications, expanding upon that with the hardcore rugged design and added "armor" found inside the box. If only there were certain other accessories in the box... I actually really enjoyed testing the Doogee S89 Pro, and the ruggedness is a big part of that. I mean really, who wouldn't have fun dropping a phone to see if it breaks over and over again. Checking if it floats? Again, more fun. The wanna-be Batman aesthetic equally so. Even the size and weight, although a bit goofy in 2022, is kind of cute and laughable. It not every phone that claims to be as rugged and durable as this S89 Pro does, and the huge 12000 mAh battery really pushes that rugged versatility to the limit and back. It's rare to be able to venture on a multi-day outdoor experience, and expect to have battery to spare at the end of the fun... but with the Doogee S89 Pro's huge battery capacity, that does hold true. I think that during my 30-day evaluation period I charged this phone just three times, and that is after lots of benchmarking, gaming, and photography. I did find the audio to be a bit lacking, as was the 3D gaming performance, but each was suitable enough, given the price.

In conclusione, considerando il prezzo offerta di soli 129 euro, Doogee S51 è uno smartphone con una bella estetica ed una buona costruzione, valide prestazioni e lunga autonomia, ma resta comunque un terminale che non eccelle in nessuno di questi ambiti. Doogee S51 è uno dispositivo indicato per chi lavora in ambienti estremi e pericolosi, senza il rischio di rompere lo smartphone e perdere i propri dati.

Doogee:

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

ARM Mali-T880 MP2:

Soluzione grafica mobile per tablet e smartphone, che si può trovare nei SoC ARM (per la maggior parte dei dispositivi basati su Android). La Mali-T880 può essere costruita da 1 a 16 cluster, dove la versione MP2 presenta 2 cluster/cores.

ARM Mali-G76 MP4:

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.
