Tirando quindi le somme potremmo dire che Strix Scar 18 (2025) è un laptop che mette tutti d’accordo quando si parla di prestazioni. Il design è migliorato, la dissipazione è finalmente all’altezza dell’hardware, e l’esperienza d’uso è più matura, seppur non priva di piccoli difetti ergonomici. È il portatile per chi cerca il massimo senza compromessi, ma che può anche diventare sobrio quando serve. Non è per tutti, assolutamente, anche e soprattutto per via del prezzo, pensate che la nostra configurazione sarà disponibile da maggio ad un prezzo di 4999 euro, ma chi può permettersi di spendere questa cifra difficilmente troverà di meglio per giocare in mobilità. Con la stessa cifra si può assemblare un desktop con prestazioni decisamente più elevate? Sì è vero, concordo, per l'utilizzo che faccio io del notebook probabilmente anche io farei così.

Ultimately, I think both of the Strix Scar laptops I tested are worthwhile investments for those who want the ultimate all-in-one computer for gaming and everything else and are willing to pay a premium for it. The Strix Scar series doesn’t come cheap, with the Scar 16 ranging from $4,199 to $6,699 and the Scar 18 ranging from $4,499 to $6,999. (The Scar 16 config I tried wasn’t listed on Asus’ website, but the closest version was $4,999. Meanwhile, the Scar 18 config I tested was priced at $6,999.) That’s a ton of money to put down for a PC, but it’s also in line with similarly specced laptops from other brands and even some desktop options. For anyone who doesn’t want to drop around $5,000 on a desktop and another roughly $1,000 on a laptop or tablet for portable computing needs, gaming laptops like the Strix Scar are the obvious way to go, and that’s before getting into the cheaper options with lower-tier or older hardware.

The CPU is lightning fast in productivity tasks, the GPU is currently the fatest mobile graphics solution on the market, the screen is beautiful and vibrant, the keyboard is joyous to use, and the machine is easily upgradeable thanks to toolless internal bay access. The few quibbles we could make come down to a some design decisions that are completely justifiable. ASUS picked a proprietary power connector because you can't slam 380W through a USB Type-C port. The excess of decorative lighting on the machine is a bonus feature to a lot of users, even if it isn't everyone's taste.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop: GeForce RTX 5090 Mobile utilizza il chip GB203 e utilizza 10.496 shader / core CUDA dei 10.752 massimi di cui dispone il chip. Questo rende la RTX 5090 Laptop più simile alla variante desktop RTX 5080 (stesso chip) rispetto alla RTX 5090 Desktop RTX 5090 desktop con 20.760 core e velocità di clock superiori.
Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

La CPU può accedere a 40 MB di cache L2 e 36 MB di cache L3 ed è specificata con un TDP di 55 watt. Il SoC integra una piccola NPU dedicata chiamata AI Boost con 13 TOPS (Int8) e supporta opzionalmente vPro Essentials.
