If you want a laptop that looks like no other laptop in the market, look no further than the Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM. It has a eye-catching design but it won’t be appreciated by everyone. The keyboard I am sure people will struggle with as it really takes a while to make sense of how the thing works. Asus perhaps stretched the quirkiness a bit much with the keyboard. But I guess that’s what they call “artistic license”. In terms of performance, the laptop delivers what most gamers would be looking for in a gaming machine. Gaming is a delight on the laptop even though some might find the screen size to be a bit small. The funk and quirk might be a bit too much for many. Especially when you consider the price. The Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM special edition costs Rs 2,84,900 and that is a lot. Even for a gaming laptop. All things considered, it is going to be a hard sell for Asus.

Whether this is primarily a gaming device or a fashion statement, we can’t really tell. We surely know that it is not for everybody. But on the other hand, regardless of the way you feel about the design, its hardware is nothing short of impressive. It is always nice to have a breath of fresh air in our office, and the ASUS ROG Flow Z13 Acronym is definitely an open window to the Alpine forests. Its extravagance is matched by fantastic handling of the power, balancing between performance and efficiency to give you a product that will never disappoint. You have to keep one thing in mind with this machine – its 65W RTX 4070 won’t be on par with more powerful iterations of the same GPU. We are talking about a difference of between 10 and 30% when compared to the 105W RTX 4070 inside the MSI Stealth 16 Studio (A13V).

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM is not for practical-minded consumers — buyers who want to get the most bang for their buck. Why? Because the Origin EON16-S has the same exact specs — an Intel Core i9-13900H CPU and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 GPU — and it performed significantly better on our performance and gaming benchmarks. (On top of that, it's less than $2,000 via Origin's official website.) As such, no one in their right minds would purchase this bizarre-o Asus laptop over the Origin. But that’s exactly it, right? Asus didn’t design this for people with “right minds.” This laptop is for the wacky, edgy technophile who wants to give off an, “I’m an eccentric hipster with deep pockets vibe.” The ACRNM is for those who want to wear a conversation piece around their bodies while still emanating an air of experimental, cutting-edge fashion.

Actually, one of the main reasons you can get such a good battery life and fantastic performance is the Armoury Crate app. It allows you to toggle through a bunch of different performance presets.

80% Y’all, this laptop is too much

I’ve been an open-minded non-curmudgeon the whole way through this review, so I hope you’ll allow me to grump about one thing. I just can’t with the keyboard. It’s too much. The keys contain what Asus refers to as “Acronym’s own custom alphabet”. I’m happy to learn that Acronym has an alphabet of its own. Unfortunately, it’s not the alphabet I need to type with for work. I’m a very competent touch typist when it comes to words. But when I need to, for example, type a number on the Z13, it becomes a scavenger hunt. It’s not that the real numbers aren’t on the Z13’s keys, but they are buried in a dump of so many other symbols and colors and zany doodads that my eyes couldn’t find them instinctively. Other things just aren’t delineated. For example, the key that lowers the brightness is labeled “DARK” and has a little faint grid on it. I understand what you’re going for, Acronym, but I just want the regular brightness icon. You can jazz up the brightness icon. Just give me the brightness icon. Wacky designs are a wonderful thing until they begin to encroach on the everyday function of a device. Kooky laptops are laptops first. The Zephyrus G14 Acronym (which I raved about upon its release) labeled its keyboard keys in a storybook-esque font that made them easier, not harder, to read. It sprinkled other decorations around the keycaps, but they were clearly and obviously delineated from the keys’ real actual labels. Eye-popping designs are great, and this device is a unique offering you won’t find anywhere else on the market. I admire products that are unapologetically themselves, whether movies or clothing or consumer technology. But the fundamentals cannot fall by the wayside. And I hope companies, as they continue to innovate, remember that.

The Asus ROG Flow Z13 ACRNM edition is kind of a mixed bag for me. It's a unique design and perhaps appealing to some of you, but the extra bulk and weight and the funky keyboard are not quite my thing, as I much prefer the cleaner design of the standard Z13 variants. At the same time, this Z13 ACRNM offers specs that are not available with the regular Z13s, such as 32 GB of RAM and a 4070 dGPU, and also runs quieter and cooler than the standard models, thanks to that slab of metal on the back of the chassis. But are these enough to justify the price premium?

Scheda grafica di fascia alta per laptop basata sull'architettura Ada Lovelace. Offre 8 GB GDDR6 (128 Bit) ed è configurabile con un TGP di 35 - 115 W (+ Dynamic Boost).

Queste schede grafiche sono paragonabili alle entusiasmanti schede grafiche desktop, come la 9800M GT. Le schede hanno un core simile alle relative schede desktop, ma hanno un clock inferiore e spesso hanno processori con meno ombre. I giochi moderni come Age of Conan, Race Driver Grid, Call of Duty 4, Mass Effect, o Gothic 3 dovrebbero scorrere in modo fluido con dettagli elevati (Crysis dovrebbe funzionare con dettagli medio alti).

I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper threading, che porta a 20 thread che possono essere elaborati. La CPU ha un clock fino a 5,4 GHz.
