We like it a lot and this is not only due to its performance and small size, but also its build quality, which feels sturdy. We wish it had a better keyboard though, and that its fingerprint reader software worked with Firefox. Above all, we wish it didn't get so bloody warm.

EN→IT Archive.org versionThe Portégé R700 is a lightweight yet powerful laptop. It's not perfect though - the keyboard isn't to our taste and the heat and noise issues are irritating. Despite these issues, if you need fast performance without the bulk then the Portégé R700 is currently the best ultra-portable laptop available at this price.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) HD Graphics:
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

520M: Il Core i5-520M ha solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed un clock tra 2.4-2.93 GHz (Turbo Mode). Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto è inclusa anche una scheda grafica (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller memoria DDR3.
