Toshiba has served up a real contender with the AT300. Build quality puts it slightly behind the very best, but otherwise it offers everything a typical school needs at a fantastic price.

he latest Toshiba tablet may not set the world on fire but the mid-range Tegra 3 chip and SD card slot make it a powerful and useful bit of kit. Available for under £300, it’s a pretty good deal and is now the obvious choice if you are after a 10in 720p Android tablet.

Considering you can find the AT300 online for around £310, it's good value. The ability to increase storage or simply view your photos via full-size SD card is nice, and performance is good. The screen isn't the best we've seen, although it's far from bad, so if you're specifically after a 10-inch tablet, you won't be disappointed. If you can live with a 7in screen, the Nexus 7 has the same resolution and processor for considerably less cash.

And that pretty much sums up the AT300 – it's good at everything it does, with no major flaws to hold it back and great price in its favour. It won't set the world alight, but it'll prove a sound purchase all the same.

NVIDIA GeForce ULP (Tegra 3): Scheda grafica Ultra Low Power (ULP) integrata nel SoC Tegra 3. Simile alla GPU Tegra 2 ma con pixel shaders addizionali ed ottimizzazione.

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.
