Il Galaxy A36 è tutto sommato un buon smartphone di fascia media, con un buon processore e un buon comparto fotografico ma il prezzo a cui è offerto è davvero troppo alto per uno smartphone di fascia medio bassa. Infatti il Galaxy A36, nella versione 6 GB + 128 GB, oggetto della nostra prova è disponibile sul sito Samsung ad un prezzo di 399.90 euro, davvero troppo.

Il Galaxy A36 5G conferma la capacità di Samsung di creare dispositivi di fascia media equilibrati e funzionali: questa è ormai una certezza, che abbiamo confermato dopo i test di questa recensione. Se volete uno smartphone senza troppi fronzoli, ma con tutte le carte in regola, a 399 euro resta una buona opzione. Soprattutto perché sul suo ottimo schermo potrete usare la miglior intelligenza artificiale su smartphone in circolazione — anche se manca qualche funzionalità rispetto ai top di gamma. Ci sono molte alternative in questa fascia di prezzo. Ma Samsung dalla sua ha l’esperienza utente ottima e sei anni di aggiornamenti. Insomma: il software fa la differenza. Ma vi consigliamo di fare attenzione alle varie offerte — se il prezzo dell’A56 dovesse avvicinarsi (al momento è a 100 euro in più), conviene forse prendere in considerazione il fratello maggiore.

Il suo prezzo di listino per la versione 8/256GB è pari a 459 euro e online si trova intorno ai 350 euro. Sarebbe anche un sì, perché il prezzo non è esagerato ed in generale si tratta di uno smartphone equilibrato ma il problema è che l'A56, superiore in tutto e soprattutto nell'efficienza essendo sia più potente che con più autonomia, si trova a 399 euro e allora ecco che a quel punto consiglio quello.

Il prezzo di listino del Galaxy A36 parte da 399€ con 6 GB di RAM e 128 GB di ROM, mentre per la versione 8/256 GB, si sale a 459€. Quest'ultima, però, si trova già a 399€ su Amazon, quindi allo stesso prezzo del taglio base. Questo calo di prezzo repentino è tipico dei Samsung della serie Galaxy A, che ogni anno partono da un prezzo decisamente troppo alto, per poi assestarsi su cifre più democratiche nel corso dei mesi seguenti. A mio avviso, per poter considerare questo A36 un acquisto valido, il prezzo deve scendere ancora di almeno 100 euro. Fino ad allora, conviene aspettare l'inevitabile deprezzamento o virare su altri smartphone.

Fincnhé A36 non scenderà su prezzi più convenienti, attorno ai 300 Euro ha molto più senso optare per un Samsung Galaxy A55 5G che offre semplicemente di più: materiali superiori, fotocamere migliori, prestazioni più convincenti. L’unico vero controvalore di A55 è nel supporto software di 4 aggiornamenti Android al lancio, di cui il primo (Android 15) è praticamente già bruciato. È un problema? Oggettivamente no, a livello di funzionalità i due telefoni sono praticamente alla pari e non cambierà nei prossimi anni, 3 anni di supporto ancora rimanenti e 4 per gli aggiornamenti di sicurezza sono una riserva più che sufficiente.

If you don't care too much about performance, cameras, and battery life, but do care about software support and premium build, then you could consider the A56 or A36, depending on your budget. My recommendation is mixed. If you’re picking up a Galaxy A36 on an excellent carrier deal for just a few bucks a month, you’ll be satisfied. It’s a solid smartphone with fantastic software support. However, if you’re paying full price, it’s worth considering other midrange phones, such as the Pixel 9a and the Moto G Stylus 2025. If you can wait for the Galaxy A56, you’ll be better served. However, for a good deal, you won't regret picking up a Galaxy A36. Samsung made several good decisions with the Galaxy A36, equipping it with an excellent 6.7-inch display and offering six years of software support. However, its 6GB of RAM holds it back compared to the competition, as the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 is capable of delivering better performance. Still, the Galaxy A36 gets fantastic battery life and has serviceable cameras.

The camera hardware sounds mostly the same from those specs, but using the auto photo mode you'll get some good looking pics. HDR situations don't phase the Samsung A36 5G, although you will see some saturation at times. Plus, night photography often means noise. My main beef with this OneUI smartphone is the juddery performance, even when you're just using regular apps. The camera app exhibits plenty of slowdown at times, while gamers have to stick to optimised titles like PubG. I tried gaming with Wuthering Waves on the Samsung Galaxy A36 5G and the results weren't pretty. Battery life is solid enough, now with faster charging support thankfully. However, while Samsung has boosted the storage space for this 2025 phone, the Galaxy A36 5G has lost microSD memory card support. Booooo.

We have very little doubt that the Galaxy A36 and A56 will enjoy plenty of mass popularity. As we said, Samsung isn't changing too much and rocking the boat too much, which is understandable. The new chipsets and better cooling offer a nice performance boost on both phones compared to last year's models, and the thermal management and stability are very impressive. The addition of 45W charging is a nice little bonus. The overall camera quality seems to come with a slight upgrade, though it's a bit early to judge.

These phones aren’t the sexiest devices on God’s green Earth, and there’s nothing really groundbreaking here in terms of new features and design. They are a little improved on the design front, which is nice, but ultimately, they’re not all that much different from last year’s handsets from a hardware point of view. And that’s not a huge problem, of course. We liked these phones last year and we’re likely to like them this year as well. Samsung fans will love them. But we preferred the Nothing Phone (2a) last year and Google’s Pixel 8a delivers longer support and (currently) much lower prices with handsets available from around £330. With new Nothing mid-rangers and the Google Pixel 9A on the horizon, I’d respectfully suggest you hold onto your wallet.
