Lo street price di questo Samsung Galaxy A22 5G è di circa 239€ (disponibile ad esempio su Amazon) ma non fatichiamo a pensare che possa anche scendere nei prossimi giorni, magari in occasione del Black Friday. E’ uno smartphone affidabile sicuramente in pieno stile Samsung come esperienza utente, ma che ovviamente non brilla di luce propria come prestazioni. Se siete alla ricerca di un buon smartphone di riserva o un dispositivo economico, siete sicuramente capitati sulla soluzione giusta.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G is another well balanced if deeply unexciting affordable phone from Samsung. It’s the kind of no frills, no nasty surprises experience you arguably want for around the £200 mark. Its stand out feature is a 48MP main camera that’s capable of taking genuinely decent shots in good lighting, as well as a battery that will see you through two days of light to moderate usage. Where it fails to impress is with its performance, which feels a little slow and creaky even for a budget phone. The display, meanwhile, lacks pop, and the phone as a whole feels a little big and heavy. The good news is that given its age, you’ll likely be able to find the Galaxy A22 5G for significantly less than RRP, and Samsung’s ongoing software support means that it remains a viable choice for the money.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 5G doesn't quite deliver the kind of experience that most people would expect, considering its price and competition. A wide selection of 5G bands would be a good thing to brag about, provided one could actually take advantage of them in India, but I'm pretty sure that by the time we get to use 5G, we will have had multiple successors to this phone. Unfortunately, there's little else to get excited about with the Galaxy A22 5G. In fact, I feel you'd be better served by Samsung's own Galaxy M32 5G or even the Galaxy F62. There's no shortage of good phones from the competition either, and a quick look though our list of the best phones under Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 25,000 should offer plenty of options.

These days, I’m judging Samsung’s affordable and mid-range phones based on how quickly I want to move back to a flagship device after the review, and the A22 5G passes with flying colors. All I missed were the considerably better cameras you get on flagships – nothing else truly bothered me, which is the highest praise I can give this phone. The A22 5G has a smooth display, excellent performance and battery life, decent main camera, and a cute little design. On the flip side, the software is too basic, an AMOLED screen would have been much better, the bezels should have been smaller, and you’re still having to make do with Samsung’s old and slow 15W charging tech.

Shots taken under artificial lighting were decent again. The colours looked vibrant, while details were minimal. And the software again struggled to give accurate edge detection. Coming to night mode shots, these pictures looked atrocious. There’s no amount of detailing you can expect, and there’s a smudged effect all over the pictures. Wide-angle in night conditions behaves like a VGA camera with no sort of colours or details. Night mode didn’t make things better either.
