Design moderno e elegante, un software razionale e Google experience con le chicche Motorola come Ready for a supporto, un autonomia eccezionale così come la qualità dell’audio e delle chiamate vocali sono tutti surplus che rendono questo nuovo Edge 30 Ultra un device che difficilmente non si può consigliare. Il comparto fotocamera è solo il fiore all’occhiello di tutto, ma non è il motivo per il quale Edge 30 Ultra va scelto. Ci sono device che onestamente scattano meglio, pochi. Ma la qualità degli scatti catturati dal nuovo sensore a 200 Mp è davvero elevata, dimostrando di non essere solo un’operazione marketing. Un ultimo appunto sul competitivo prezzo di vendita, che fa schizzare il rapporto qualità/prezzo, considerando anche la completa e di qualità dotazione di vendita. Una bella dimostrazione di Motorola, che con il nuovo Edge 30 Ultra 5G è tornata dove merita di stare, nell’olimpo dei costruttori mondiali di smartphone, grazie alla sua storia e al supporto di un colosso come Lenovo, leader mondiale nel settore informatico.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra racconta di un’azienda in grande spolvero che si è decisa a fare sul serio. Il prezzo di listino è di 999 Euro ma subito ribassato a 899 Euro e, cercando un po’ in rete, non è difficile trovarlo già a circa 770 Euro, prezzi accattivanti per un prodotto completo al 95%. Qualche mancanza ce l’ha come ad esempio la certificazione contro acqua e polvere non al vertice e una fotocamera tele-obiettivo semplice, ma che si fa scusare facilmente offrendo dal canto suo una dotazione accessoria più che ricca, una fotocamera principale innovativa, una ricarica super rapida sia cablata che wireless e non solo. Promosso insomma, soprattutto su cifre intorno i 600-700 Euro anche perché purtroppo, il neo più grande attualmente di Motorola è ancora il poco appeal e la conseguente forte svalutazione che i suoi prodotti subiscono nel giro di pochi mesi, che rendono sconveniente l’eventuale rivendibilità.

Riguardo al prezzo, lo considero corretto e a fuoco rispetto a quello che offrono i suoi concorrenti sul mercato. Edge 30 Ultra è elegante e ben costruito con materiali premium, monta un display davvero ottimo con un refresh rate incredibile. Inoltre, offre un comparto fotografico di tutto rispetto, con una principale da 200MP (la prima sul mercato) e una ricarica rapida fast da 125W. Sicuramente gli utenti avrebbero gradito un maggior grado di certificazione all'acqua (IP52) e una maggiore memoria interna che raggiunge al massimo i 256GB senza la possibilità di espansione.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra viene proposto a 999 euro di listino, scontato però già di 100 euro fin dal day one, raggiungendo quindi un prezzo di 899 euro. Negli ultimi giorni, tuttavia, vi abbiamo notificato alcune offerte interessanti che l'hanno portato poco sopra gli 800 euro. Tutto considerato, il rapporto qualità/prezzo di questo prodotto è ottimo, molto più conveniente rispetto ai tanti smartphone di fascia premium da oltre 1.000 euro, rispetto ai quali non ha assolutamente timore reverenziale. In fin dei conti manca la certificazione IP, ma su tutti gli altri fronti siamo al cospetto di un signor top di gamma. Le principali alternative sono gli ultimi Pixel appena presentati, iPhone 14 Plus, OPPO Find X5, Xiaomi 12T Pro, OnePlus 10T, Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, in tutti i casi Motorola Edge 30 Ultra ha qualcosa di importante con cui giocarsi le sue carte, un bel ritorno di Motorola su livelli elevati che era mancato negli ultimi anni, bene così.

Motorola Edge 30 Ultra è uno smartphone premium a tutti gli effetti e vuole distinguersi con dei "record" su alcuni fronti, come sul kit fotografico (che include anche per la prima volta un sensore da 200 megapixel) e sulla ricarica rapida, addirittura a 125W cablata e a 50W wireless. Ma non manca un bel display a 144 Hz e il processore Snapdragon di ultima generazione. C'è ancora qualche angolo da smussare, ma se non volete comprare "il solito" qui vi portate a casa molto ad un prezzo, seppur alto, inferiore a molti concorrenti.

Il nuovo Motorola Edge 30 Ultra ci è piaciuto molto durante questa recensione. Ha un’autonomia invidiabile, un bel design e un grande schermo. E poi ha la potenza per gestire qualsiasi carico di lavoro e una fotocamera di buona qualità. Ma nella fascia di prezzo dei top di gamma, la competizione (soprattutto fotografica) è spietata. Ma con un prezzo di 999,90 euro, che sul sito Motorola trovate già scontato a 899,90 euro, questo smartphone batte diversi concorrenti diretti. Con i 100 euro iniziali di sconto, diventa un top di gamma completo a un prezzo più che in linea. Come sempre quando l’asticella del prezzo si alza così tanto, per la maggior parte degli utenti è strafare: vi basterebbe meno potenza, meno Pixel, meno autonomia. Ma Motorola Edge 30 Ultra ha tutto e se volete il top, è un’opzione da tenere in considerazione. Con lo sconto di 100 euro iniziale, è consigliato.

The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra is the Lenovo-owned mobile manufacturer’s best bid for an absolute top mobile in recent times. In particular, the towering performance, long battery life and fast charging lift the overall impression significantly. Moreover, the Edge 30 Ultra is stylishly and elegantly designed, and although it doesn’t use the very latest technologies to protect the phone, it is well protected against scratches and glass damage, as well as being dust and splash-proof. The screen is nice and bright, while the fast refresh rate ensures a smooth user experience. So you can live with the fact that the screen resolution could have been higher. Unfortunately, the camera drags down the overall rating. Ambitions have clearly been high, but perhaps Motorola should consider following in the footsteps of Xiaomi and OnePlus, who have both allied themselves with camera experts from Leica and Hasselblad respectively. This has given the two manufacturers’ flagship products a boost that Motorola could also do with. If anything, it would have guaranteed the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra our absolute top rating if the image quality had been better. Now it has to ‘settle’ for our second best score and a special warm recommendation.

We have it, guys. Motorola has finally released a true premium smartphone for the masses. The only problem is it isn’t coming to North America. With its rather appealing price, the Edge 30 Ultra reminds me of the OnePlus philosophy from a couple of years ago, which was basically, to give the people flagship specs while undercutting your rivals. The Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has an excellent camera system, and beautiful looks, and is a beast when it comes to performance and charging speeds. Still, some compromises had to be made for this phone to be as affordable as it is. For example, the display is good, but not excellent, and the materials used are nice, but not the most premium out there. These are small but noticeable disadvantages. The curved display and sharp side rails of the Edge 30 Ultra automatically mean it isn’t going to be to everyone’s taste design-wise. This isn’t a phone that’s comfortable to hold. You can fix that by buying a more rugged case, but the display will still be prone to accidental touches. Let’s hope these get to a minimum with a future software update from Motorola.

It took Motorola a lot of time and top-of-the-line specs to do a phone that is simply good in almost all the crucial ways. The Edge 30 Ultra is the first Motorola phone I can recommend as a good alternative to the likes of a Samsung Galaxy S22, or the iPhone 14, with no depressing clauses. It has a fast and efficient chip, a nice display, a pleasant Android experience, a good set of cameras, decent battery life and convenient quick charging. The biggest change? It looks awesome – a first for a Motorola phone over the last few years (barring the 2019 Razr). Surely, there are imperfections and Motorola needs to work on them. The 200MP camera has more potential to be tapped, especially at night. Battery life could have been better too, and I wish Motorola launched it with Android 13 out of the box. But then you consider the price of Rs. 59,999 and the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra suddenly seems like a great deal. In fact, the early sale price of Rs. 54,999 makes it a steal! And this is a much better phone than the iQOO 9T, as well as all those cut-price flagship phones.

All things considered, the Edge 30 Ultra gets a cautious recommendation from us. It's not the best value, especially not in Europe at MSRP, where the Galaxy S22+ is offering more bang for as much buck, but the right discount down the line could very well tip those scales. In India, on the other hand, it's looking like a proper deal.

The Edge 30 Ultra manages to hold its own thanks to some unique features that aren't available on other competing devices such as the 200-megapixel camera, a 144Hz OLED display, and an official IP rating. At the Rs. 59,999 sticker price, Motorola appears to have given everything one could hope for in the Edge 30 Ultra, on paper anyway, but can all of these features deliver a better flagship experience? Moto Edge 30 Ultra initial review: Hands on with the 200MP camera phone

As flagship phones go, the Moto Edge 30 Ultra certainly ticks all the right boxes on paper. It's got a top tier processor, lots of RAM and storage, a high-refresh HDR10+ display and strong-sounding camera system. Motorola's problem with the Edge 30 Ultra might not be a problem with the phone itself. Instead, Motorola has built a reputation for building good, affordable budget and mid-range phones and so its flagships are something of an unknown entity. It has a released a couple in recent years, but they haven't really set the world alight with enthusiasm. What we like most about the Edge 30 Ultra is actually its design. Moto didn't join other manufacturers in releasing a heavy, flat-edged premium device. Instead, its curving on the front and back mean it's nice to hold and feels a lot more compact than it is. Combine that with super fast performance, 144Hz refresh screen and stupidly quick 125W charging and you get a highly capable phone that's not a burden to carry and use every day.

The high-end segment could use some spicing up and the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra has potential to do so. The 200MP main camera will help the marketing team, but it can prove useful too - more thanks to the sensor's size and what the binning can bring rather the sheer resolution. The telephoto camera reach is rather short, but there is a tele at least, and the autofocusing ultrawide is a most welcome sight. Of course, the 144Hz display is a nice touch, we just need to see how it fares when it comes to brightness and color. The 125W charging is similarly eye-catching on paper but that too needs some level-headed testing and let's not forget battery life. We're expecting solid performance from the latest Snapdragon, and we got nicely stable results under prolonged loads too from past Motos - particularly nice if you're going to make use of the desktop PC functionality of the Edge 30 Ultra. We'll elaborate on all these and more in the full review, so stay tuned.

Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Qualcomm sostiene che è il 30% più veloce dell'Adreno 660 nel SoC Snapdragon 888. Per Android dovrebbe essere una delle schede grafiche più veloci alla fine del 2021.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

SD 8+ Gen 1:

SoC di fascia alta per smartphone introdotto alla fine del 2021 e prodotto in 4 nm presso TSMC. Integra un "Prime Core" basato su architettura ARM Cortex-X2 con clock fino a 3,2 GHz. Altri tre core ad alte prestazioni sono basati sull'A710 ma con clock fino a 2,5 GHz. Inoltre, sono integrati quattro core a risparmio energetico basati sull'architettura ARM Cortex-A510 con clock fino a 1,8 GHz. Oltre ai core del processore, il SoC integra un modem WiFi 6e, un DSP Hexagon (per l'accelerazione AI) e un ISP Spectra. Il controller di memoria integrato supporta la memoria LPDDR5 veloce fino a 3.200 MHz. Il 5G è ora incluso nel chip con il modem Snapdragon X65. Rispetto alla versione non plus, l'8+ Gen 1 offre un Prime Core con clock superiore di 200 MHz e una GPU con clock superiore del 10%. Inoltre, ora è prodotto da TSMC e non da Samsung.
