Lenovo ThinkPad L380 review – good but lacks some boldness

Lenovo has a significant presence in the business devices segment. And they have some pretty good devices there. However, the ThinkPad L380 is not one of the best they have in the 13-inch sector. Especially given the strong Latitude line up of Dell and the ProBooks of HP. L380’s drawbacks are mostly caused by the conservative way its cooling is designed – both from a hardware and software perspective. Nonetheless, the laptop is quiet and relatively cool all the time, thus enabling use in libraries and schools. Moreover, maintaining low temperatures is key for the longevity of the product.

Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" dalla leggenda inglese, novo (latino) per nuovo) è stata fondata nel 1984 come società cinese di commercio di computer. Nel 2004, l'azienda era il più grande produttore di laptop in Cina e, dopo aver acquisito la divisione PC di IBM nel 2005, il quarto più grande al mondo. Oltre a desktop e notebook, l'azienda produce monitor, proiettori, server, ecc. ed è specializzata nello sviluppo, produzione e commercializzazione di elettronica di consumo, personal computer, software, soluzioni aziendali e servizi correlati.

Nel 2016, l'azienda si è classificata al primo posto al mondo nelle vendite di computer. Lo deteneva ancora nel 2023 con una quota di mercato globale di circa il 23%. Importanti linee di prodotti sono Thinkpad, Legion e Ideapad.

Nel 2011 ha acquisito una partecipazione di maggioranza in Medion AG, un produttore europeo di hardware per computer. Nel 2014 è stata acquistata Motorola Mobility, che ha dato a Lenovo una spinta nel mercato degli smartphone.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
