HONOR 200 e HONOR 200 Pro sono due smartphone mediogamma capaci di spingersi dove altri non hanno mai fatto o sono stati magari sottovalutati in alcuni aspetti. Guardano entrambi fortemente alla fotografia ma lo fanno soprattutto con un approccio completamente diverso rispetto ad altri della loro categoria permettendo di avere in mano un device capace di scattare ritratti fotografici di altissima qualità grazie alla co-ingegnerizzazione con lo Studio Harcourt di Parigi. Ed è veramente un plus non indifferente perché HONOR riesce a dare nuova linfa ad un comparto fotografico di per sé comunque già di un livello superiore per un telefono non propriamente top di gamma, introducendo l’Intelligenza Artificiale anzi integrando una fotocamera di livello professionale grazie ad un evoluto motore HONOR AI Portrait Engine capace di catturare ritratti capaci di spiccare per qualità e definizione.

Insomma Honor 200 Pro è sicuramente un ottimo smartphone. Rispetto ad Honor 200 base sono molte le migliorie tra cui: migliori prestazioni, connettività, display, fotocamera principale, memorie e ulteriori aspetti come la fantastica ricarica wireless a ben 60W. Il prezzo richiesto in più è di soli 100€, per così dire, se consideriamo le versioni 12/512GB. Honor 200 Pro con coupon e sconto extra ci viene a costare 599€ mentre Honor 200 si assesta a 499€. Honor 200 vi ricordiamo però che è disponibile anche in versione 8/256GB a 459€, sempre sfruttando il coupon. Se sulla carta quei 100€ sono giustificati, insomma, potremmo dire che nella vita reale molto probabilmente tantissimi non riuscirebbero a cogliere le differenze. In alcuni ambiti, come la fotocamera, ad oggi addirittura Honor 200 risulta più ottimizzato.

Se questo smartphone fosse arrivato sul mercato a 599 €, vi avremmo detto di correre a comprarlo, perché il suo livello qualitativo è veramente eccellente. Come abbiamo ripetuto più volte nel corso della recensione di Honor 200 Pro, il posizionamento di questo smartphone complica notevolmente le nostre valutazioni, perché nonostante tutti gli aspetti positivi che presenta, non è facile digerirne il prezzo. La fotocamera è di buona qualità, ma non ci ha fatto urlare al miracolo, il processore di buon livello, ma non è al top, il software è affidabile e intuitivo, ma manca delle soluzioni più avanzate di intelligenza artificiale. In pratica, stiamo parlando di un eccellente prodotto di fascia media, ma questo ci riporta ancora una volta al prezzo. E’ un loop senza fine, confidiamo in una bella campagna sconti.

Recensione HONOR 200 Pro: potrete fare ritratti da fotografo professionista!

HONOR 200 Pro ci è piaciuto per molti aspetti. In primis ha un suo stile che si differenzia dagli altri per questa importante struttura fotografica al posteriore, per un display curvo su tutti e quattro i lati che ad alcuni magari potrebbe far storcere il naso ma che a livello qualitativo è davvero interessante per luminosità e per qualità. Possiede un processore di ultima generazione Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 vicino al suo maggior fratello ma in questo caso la CPU non ci ha creato problemi anzi ci ha permesso di spingerci dove non arrivano altri medio gamma e soprattutto di farlo senza surriscaldamenti noiosi e con l’attenzione all’efficienza che qui oltretutto viene coadiuvata da una batteria da 5200 mAh.

Honor 200 Pro è un vero mago dei ritratti. Gli scatti in studio

Honor 200 parte invece da 649,00€ nel formato 12+512GB e anche per lui vale lo stesso discorso: con i coupon costa 499 euro, prezzo ottimo se si pensa alla parte fotografica. Se si rinuncia ad un po’ di RAM e ad un po’ di storage, Honor 200 nella versione da 8+256GB costerà ancora meno, 449 euro. Difficile a questo prezzo trovare smartphone con pari caratteristiche, anche se oggi non si possono fare tutte le valutazioni sull’hardware, anche il software è importante. Honor dovrebbe essersi allineata anche su questo aspetto: i due telefoni sono basati sulla MagicOS 8.0 e avranno 3 anni di update di sistema e 4 anni di patch di sicurezza. Se la promessa dei ritratti perfetti è mantenuta, per quella degli aggiornamenti dobbiamo basarci sulla fiducia.

The Honor 200 Pro is a great device that has focused heavily on it’s camera skills, which is a good thing as it does work very well as. Camera particularly in close quarters. That being said it is by no means a one trick pony as it is a component phone for gaming and never let me down on the performance side of things. Whilst it is not quite flagship tier, it is so close that it is actually difficult to class it’s position in the brands lineup. I see it this way, if you want the top of the line flagship specs then you have the Honor Magic 6 Pro which is a great phone from the limited time I had with it. However if you don’t need the top of the line in terms of specs and want to focus on the camera and particularly portraits then the Honor 200 Pro is a solid buy.

Overall, the Honor 200 Pro is a great mid-range smartphone, and easily one of my favorites this 2024. Not only does it look good, it has the performance to match as well. It caters to users who want a phone with a very capable camera, but can also handle its games well. This then makes it great for content creators or those who want to try and dip into photography and videography. The only downside of the phone is the battery life. Despite having a larger 5200 mAh battery pack, it doesn’t last longer than other phones. In fact, it’s around the same or even uses more battery than its competitors. Speaking of competition, the Honor 200 Pro retails for PHP 29,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

Honor calls its 200 Pro’s main 50 MP camera with an f/1.9 aperture a “studio-level portrait camera.” Marketed as “the portrait master,” the device has the elements for providing good portraits, thanks to its reliable autofocus, accurate target exposure, and fairly wide dynamic range, even though some color instabilities were noted. For colors, some occasional casts and skin-tone inaccuracies were sometimes visible. Images also contained some chromatic noise, particularly in low-light conditions. Strong backlit conditions could also result in a low contrast in images. The Honor 200 Pro’s strong performances in autofocus, exposure, and well-controlled noise in video were offset by the inconsistencies in stabilization, which were apparent when shooting action videos when walking.

The majority of my issues with the Honor 200 Pro boil down to the fact that the software just isn’t as good as you can get elsewhere. I think there’s definitely still room for improvement on the software front, and there seems to be far fewer fans of curved-edge screens than there used to be. But there’s no denying it feels every bit as premium in the hand as those phones. So it’s a very tempting alternative that really holds its own among rivals.

The low contrast seems to be more of a problem when zooming in, as in the case of a short clip of the base of the Eiffel tower, where the Olympic rings could be seen. The shadows in the footage has been rendered more grey/brown than black. All in all, the Honor 200 Pro is a very exciting phone to use as it offers quite a lot for photographers for its price point (just under £700) – particularly as someone who takes a lot of portraits. Not only does it have a triple camera system on the back, it also has a telephoto camera and a high-resolution 50MP selfie camera on the front.

I can see this phone giving some true flagships a run for their money, and the only thing that somewhat spoils this Parisian party is the price. At £699.99 (around $890), the Honor 200 Pro is more expensive than all your mainstream flagship phones, including the iPhone 15, Galaxy S24, and Pixel 8. Can this phone compete with those? It can, absolutely! But it would require a massive leap of faith for most people to reach and grab the Honor 200 Pro and skip the aforementioned "safe" choices. Which is a shame.

Leaving the price out of it, this is a damn good phone. Especially if it comes in much cheaper than the Magic6 series. Typically, the number series are marketed as mid-range phones, but there’s nothing mid-range about this. A flagship processor, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, three incredible cameras on the back, and a big juicy battery to boot. There’s not a lot to dislike about the HONOR 200 Pro.

The Honor 200 Pro’s display showed a strong performance in our Display protocol, supported by achieving a top score in color and an excellent showing in touch. The Honor 200 Pro’s flicker-free screen provided a well-adapted brightness in low light and in indoor conditions. However, the display’s readability was heavily challenged in outdoor lighting, and the device couldn’t quite match the luminance and contrast levels of its competitors. Color performance was by far the display’s strongest aspect. The device’s colors, tested in the faithful mode were accurate throughout. This, along with color uniformity, earned the device the highest score in this attribute. Despite a slight green color shift when viewed from an angle, the screen managed to maintain its color accuracy. Touch performance was highlighted by a very fast and accurate average response time of 56 ms. In addition, the device showed no evidence of reacting to any unintended touches.

Qualcomm Adreno 735: Chip grafico per smartphone e tablet, integrato nel SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.

Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

SD 8s Gen 3: SoC (System on a Chip) di fascia alta per smartphone, presentato nel 2024. Tra le altre cose, integra un veloce Cortex-X4 "Prime Core" con una frequenza fino a 3 GHz e 4 core aggiuntivi veloci Cortex-A720 da 2,8 GHz. Per risparmiare energia, sono stati installati anche 3 core ARM Cortex-A520 aggiuntivi da 2,3 GHz. Sono integrati un modem 5G, WiFi 7 e un motore AI significativamente più veloce.
