EN→IT Archive.org versionBy any standard, this is a good business Chromebook with a strong design and some excellent features. The problem is that it’s also very expensive, and the price isn’t reflected across the board. The spec is phenomenal, but arguably unnecessary on a Chromebook, while other business Chromebooks pull ahead on screen quality, often for a lower price. Against competition as strong as the Latitude 7410 Chrome or Google Pixelbook Go, the HP doesn’t quite measure up.

EN→IT Archive.org versionThe HP Pro c640 Chromebook shines in a number of areas, including the battery life, the typing and trackpad experience, and the processing power on board. It has some very useful extra features too, though there are also some weaker points to talk about too.

EN→IT Archive.org versionThe Pro c640 has powerful options, but even once you upgrade to a beefy processor and touchscreen, the screen still feels inferior, and the webcam is worthless. This is a laptop made for a bygone era when Enterprise Chromebooks were harder to come by, and pricing was not as competitive.

EN→IT Archive.org versionMy overall impression of the HP Pro C640 is good. The device is built well and offers a lot of the options you’d expect from a premium device. As far as recommending this Chromebook, I’m afraid I’ll have to take a pass this time around. I am a big fan of getting the most horsepower available but unless you absolutely need a Core i7 and 16GB of RAM, there are other devices out there that offer plenty of premium features, better displays, USI support and they cost half as much. Outside of the model we reviewed, I can’t recommend the lesser builds. The Core i5 model with 8GB of RAM is going to run you $200 more than the Acer Spin 713 and the Spin has an awesome display, 360-degree hinge and many other features that are simply better. For the enterprise that needs a fleet of powerful Chromebooks, this is a solid pick but consumers should probably steer clear. I will miss the raw power of this Chromebook but that’s about it.

EN→IT Archive.org versionI would recommend the HP Pro C640 for security-minded, Google fanatics who love the peace of mind that comes with having a privacy shutter, a fingerprint reader and a malware-averse operating system. The Pro C640 can last the whole workday — and then some — with its 11-hour battery life.

Intel UHD Graphics 620:

i7-10610U: Processore quad-core a bassa potenza basato su Comet Lake (tecnicamente identico a Whiskey Lake e ancora prodotto in 14nm++). Rispetto all'analogo Core i7-10510U, il 10610U supporta vPro.
