Starting at $299 (sold wholesale only), this netbook portable is designed for kindergarten through grade 6. This simple, affordable classroom netbook gets the job done for a rock-bottom price. It’s faster than competing models, but it lacks certain extras that make kid notebooks specific to kids.

Unit price depends on the number of systems ordered, but HP estimates that the Mini 100e will cost less than $300. So while the Mini 100e may not offer as robust a package as the CTL 2go Convertible Classmate PC NL2, it will cost anywhere from $100 to $200 less, which is a pretty steep delta for large, cash-strapped schools. And even though consumer models like the ASUS Eee PC 1001P and the Toshiba Mini NB255 cost about the same (and, in some cases, perform better), they don't include the kid-proofing and durability that will keep you from having to replace a unit after the first minor accident. For the price, the Mini 100e is a good choice for schools and students.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Scheda grafica integrata (memoria condivisa) nell'Intel Atom N4xx CPUs. Minimamente più veloce rispetto ad una vecchia GMA 950 e pertanto non adatta ai giochi 3D o ai video HD (solo accelerazione MPEG2).

Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:

La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
