HP's EliteBook 8470p offers stacks of built-in features, security options and connections to the past. It's a solidly built business machine with great performance and it feels comfortable to use. We just wish it had a higher resolution screen and perhaps a bit more RAM for the price.

As you can see, it's a very well stocked machine, which is what contributes to its overall heavy weight, despite being a manageable 14in form factor. It's a worthy laptop to consider if you want great performance while on-the-go and can't stand the thought of getting a full-on workstation notebook. Additionally, its keyboard, battery life, and matte screen are also positive points.

These days, store shelves and online outlets are overflowing with super-thin ultrabooks. Corporate customers looking for a compact, rugged laptop with good looks that's easy to upgrade should consider the EliteBook 8470p. Just note that if you want stellar battery life, you'll definitely want to splurge on an extra battery.

The HP EliteBook 8470p is an overall good performer, so much so that it seems somewhat reductive to pigeonhole it as simply a business-class laptop. It's armed with enough oomph to double as a multimedia powerhouse and, to a lesser extent, gaming rig. Aside from its impressively engineered chassis, however, it doesn't offer much in terms of performance to distinguish it from lighter and less expensive systems, like the Lenovo IdeaPad Y580. Ultimately, it's a good choice for anyone looking for a rugged road companion. For everyone else, though, the Editors' Choice Lenovo Y580 is still the system to checking out.

AMD Radeon HD 7570M: Stesso chip della Radeon HD 6630M, ma una interfaccia di memoria di appena 64 bit e solo 5 SIMDs (=400 Shader) attivi. Ci sono varie versioni di clock con memoria DDR3 o GDDR5.

La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).
