HP’s ultra-light 14” business Ultrabook weighs just 2.5 lb / 1.13kg, and sports a magnesium alloy casing. Despite its diminutive size and light weight, it packs a healthy number of ports including 2 Thunderbolt 2, 2 USB-A and an HDMI port. It’s more upgradable than the average Ultrabook thanks to 2 RAM slots. The laptop is available with Intel 11th gen Core i5 and i7 processors, with optional vPro and standard Intel Iris Xe graphics. It was released in the fall of 2021. There are a variety of display options and 4G and 5G WWAN are optional.

EN→ITIts top-shelf security and manageability features carry a high price, but HP's EliteBook 840 Aero G8 is one of the lightest and nicest 14-inch business laptops. Pop quiz, business-laptop shoppers: What's the difference between the HP EliteBook 840 G8 and the HP EliteBook 840 Aero G8? The Aero is a bit more expensive (starts at $1,639; $2,679 as tested) but a bit lighter: 2.5 pounds versus 2.92, thanks to magnesium rather than aluminum construction. That may tempt execs who hate a heavy briefcase, but it's no lighter than the Editors' Choice award–winning Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9, which we've described as one of the two best laptops in the world and which costs $482 less as tested. (Though note that our X1 Carbon had a minutely slower CPU and lacked the HP's mobile broadband.) The EliteBook Aero is an attractive and well-equipped slimline with security features that IT departments will love, but it falls just short of Editors' Choice honors.

EN→ITThe HP EliteBook Aero G8 offers a solid amount of performance and a load of security features in a compact lightweight package. The laptop’s Core i7 processor and integrated graphics can handle that heavy multitasking, plus it has a comfortable keyboard making it a prime work machine. And if you’re looking to rock out to some tunes in your downtime, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the speakers. However, for $2,882, I would expect a brighter display and longer battery life. For those things, you’ll want to consider the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (9th Gen) which is also cheaper at $1,965. But if you’re looking for a lightweight, handsome laptop that’s extra secure with good performance, the HP EliteBook Aero G8 is the way to go.

EN→ITLike I said at the beginning of this review, I’ve been using the EliteBook 840 Aero everywhere I go, even when I have plenty of devices to choose from. Honestly, it’s the 5G that makes it the perfect travelling companion, but when you add in the phenomenal keyboard and the lightweight package, it gets even better. The two big downsides are it’s expensive and it has a 720p webcam. I haven’t talked too much about the price, because the pricing on HP.com right now is absurd. Aside from that, it’s everything I want it to be. It reminds me of the Elite Dragonfly series, which is in the premium tier. That’s the other time HP went and made a magnesium alloy super-light business laptop, and this is designed to be more mainstream. If you can find this at the right price, I totally recommend it. HP makes fantastic business laptops, and this has everything you’ll want.

EN→ITHP EliteBook 840 G8’s IPS panel has a Full HD resolution, comfortable viewing angles, high maximum brightness, and a very good contrast ratio. Additionally, it covers 97% of the sRGB color gamut and doesn’t use PWM for brightness adjustment. Thankfully, our Gaming and Web design profile manages to extract the best of the display. It improves the color accuracy to an Average dE of <1.0. This makes the screen really appetizing for e-commerce retailers, presenters, and Web designers.

Scheda grafica integrata nei SoC Intel Tiger Lake G4 basati sulla nuova architettura Gen. 12 con 96 EU (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). La frequenza di clock dipende dal modello di processore. I chip Tiger Lake sono prodotti nel moderno processo 10nm+ di Intel.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.
