This is really expensive for the average joe, but then this is not designed for the average joe. This is not to say that it's value for money or anything; it just is what it is. There's no doubt that the level of details and customizations is very well done and it certainly feels like a premium device. But leaving out the high price for a moment, it's far from perfect. If you're going to be charging a premium then I want backlit keys as well. The trackpad could have been designed better as well and the surface is not conducive for tracking. And finally the battery life is not the best, but then again you don't buy a Lamborghini for the awesome mileage, so I guess that's forgivable.

EN→IT Archive.org versionAs with all sports cars, if they’re any good, the price tag is accordingly high, and ASUS’ VX6S is no exception. For the money you have to invest in this netbook (if it falls under the netbook category at all anymore), you can buy a serious 15” model with a moderately strong configuration. On the other hand, this model isn’t supposed to sell in millions anyway. It’s a very specific concept catering to a fairly limited population (automobile industry enthusiasts), and these won’t be let down in terms of performance (we take design as a given).

AMD Radeon HD 6470M: Scheda grafica di fascia medio-bassa basata sul Seymore XT e che sfrutta il processore video UVD3.
La maggior parte dei giochi attuali può essere giocata in modo fluido. Ma preparatevi ad una riduzione delle presentazioni grafiche considerando le impostazioni di dettaglio basse e la risoluzione limitata. Tuttavia, queste schede forniscono ancora abbastanza potenza per le applicazioni da ufficio e la proiezioni di video (ma non per i video HD).

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
D2700: CPU dual core Atom per Nettop/Desktop con una scheda grafica integrata SGX545 PowerVR e decoder video. Rispetto alla N-Series, la D-Series non sfrutta lo Speedstep.
