Netbook, ridefinito. Asus offre un comodo e utile subnotebook basato su Windows 8.1 Bing dal costo di 219 Euro (~$269). Cosa si potrà aspettare la clientela da un prezzo così ridotto? Asus parla di eleganza, impressione da prodotto premium, prestazioni, 12 ore di navigazione e colori vividi. Incluso abbiamo anche un anno di licenza ad Office 365.
Netbook, ridefinito. Asus vende un comodo subnotebook con Windows 8.1 Bing per 219 Euro (~$272). Cosa bisogna attendersi per cosi pochi soldi? Asus punta su eleganza, aspetto premium, performance, 12 ore di navigazione web, e colori vibranti. In aggiunta, un anno di licenza Office 365 inlcusa. Troppo bello per essere vero?

It's not without flaws and Asus did have to cut some corners here and there, but that was expected from a device that sells for this little.

There are a couple of areas where I'd like to see improvement (beyond the display) such as the screen hinge and slow eMMC storage, but on the other hand it offers adequate performance and has great battery life. Overall it's very hard to fault a complete system of this quality that sells for $199.

If you're looking for an ultraportable, affordable laptop, then sadly the EeeBook X205TA just isn't good enough to compete with the HP Stream 11 - that's the one we'd buy.

I would have to say yes, for the simple reason that this is a more familiar OS and you can use your regular Windows applications online as well as offline to get work done. The two issues that we had with the Acer Chromebook C720 included terrible display and bad keyboard – both areas where Asus EeeBook X205TA offers a better solution.

The glossy screen may throw some people because you’ll expect it to be touch-friendly, and the mouse could do with a little work, but if you’re patient and you get used to Windows using only that mouse, it’s easy to find a solid experience offered in the X205TA.

If you’re happy to take your work to the cloud and don’t mind paying a yearly fee of £60 for Office365, the Asus EeeBook X205TA is a terrific buy, even when compared to our favourite Chromebooks. If you’re happy to spend slightly more and reject the cloud completely, the Acer Aspire E3-111 would be a worthy alternative: it's more powerful and has a 500GB hard disk.

Intel HD Graphics (Bay Trail): GPU Bay Trail SoCs integrata per tablet e notebook. Si basa sulla GPU Ivy Bridge con quattro Execution Units e supporta DirectX 11.
Soltanto i giochi datasi possono essere giocati in modo fluido con questi chips grafici (se non richiedono troppe prestazioni). I cores con memoria grafica condivisa in questa categoria hanno il vantaggio delle minori emissioni di calore e della maggiore autonomia della batteria. Per ufficio, internet, image processing, e video editing queste schede grafiche sono utilizzabili senza particolari problematiche.

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).

Questa diagonale di schermo è abbastanza grande per i tablets ma piccola per i subnotebooks. Anche alcuni convertibili usano questa dimensione.
I display con dimensioni maggiori consentono risoluzioni più elevate. Quindi, i dettagli come le lettere sono più grandi. D'altro canto, il consumo energetico è inferiore negli schermi con diagonali piccole e su dispositivi più piccoli, più leggeri ed economici.
