EN→IT Archive.org versionAll in all, the Asus EEE PC 1015PED is right now on of the best mainstream 10 inchers. And by mainstream I mean devices with great features/price ratios. It is also a part of the best 10 inch netbooks list here on the site, where you can check out the other top picks available at the moment. Like you can see, this is not exactly a review of the 1015PED as this particular version is not actually available in my country yet. Still, I'm trying to get my hands on one of them and in the mean time, you can see the reviews it scored with buyers via this link.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3150: Scheda grafica integrata (memoria condivisa) nell'Intel Atom N4xx CPUs. Minimamente più veloce rispetto ad una vecchia GMA 950 e pertanto non adatta ai giochi 3D o ai video HD (solo accelerazione MPEG2).
Queste schede grafiche per portatili non sono adatte al gaming. Anche se dovessero funzionare, ci sarebbero diversi errori grafici e un frame rate molto basso. Questi chips non sono affatto per i gamers! Applicazioni internet e da ufficio, invece non sono problematiche per queste GPUs.

Intel Atom:
La Intel Atom è una serie a 64-Bit di microprocessori (non tutti i modelli supportano 64bit) per portatili economici e piccoli (chiamati comunemente netbooks), MIDs, o UMPCs (Ultra Mibile Persona Computer). La particolarità della nuova architettura è l'esecuzione "in order" (al posto della consueta e più veloce esecuzione "out of order"). Di conseguenza il transistor count della serie Atom è abbastanza inferiore, e quindi più economico da produrre. Inoltre, il consumo di energia è molto contenuto. Le prestazioni per Megahertz sono ovviamente peggiori rispetto ai vecchi Pentium 3M (1,2 GHz alla pari di 1.6 GHz Atom).
N475: CPU Atom per Netbooks con controller di memoria DDR3 integrato (diversamente dall'N470 con DDR2) e GPU GMA 3150. Le prestazioni della CPU dovrebbero essere minimamente superiori all'attuate Atom Z450 da 1.86 GHz.
