Se possedete un iPhone 7, o forse anche un iPhone 6S, il salto all'iPhone 8 non è grande. Naturalmente, le prestazioni sono un po' migliori e c'è la ricarica senza fili, ma niente di più. I salti nelle altre funzioni non sono particolarmente grandi. Ma se possedete un iPhone ancora più vecchio e non volete spendere più soldi per il modello Plus o l'iPhone X, dovreste trovarvi bene.

E questa era la recensione di iPhone 8, il miglior iPhone di sempre, senza dubbio. Per me è anche decisamente migliore del modello Plus, che con quelle cornici e dimensioni è rimasto seriamente ancorato al 2014. Peccato però che sia il miglior iPhone di sempre fino a novembre. L’arrivo di iPhone X farà dimenticare in fretta quest’ottimo ma fallato prodotto, ma ad Apple va bene così. Deve fare da apripista e da alternativa per chi non può o non vuole spendere più di 1000€ per uno smartphone, o per chi comunque è affezionato a questo form-factor di iPhone.

I keep telling people to go for the iPhone 7 instead of the iPhone 8, simply because of the marginal difference in features and significant difference in price, and that verdict unfortunately hasn’t changed much. Granted, the iPhone 8 performs much better with a better processor and camera system, it supports wireless charging and has better battery life than the iPhone 7, but you aren’t missing out on essential features if you already own an iPhone 7. As a matter of fact, the iPhone 8 is made for those looking to upgrade from the iPhone 6 or older, and doesn’t want to pay an extra premium for Animojis and Face ID, it may be dated, but it is still a decent product.

While many people have complained that there are not enough changes in the iPhone 8’s camera as compared to the iPhone 7’s (which is true as the shooting experience and the specs on both the device remains largely the same), we would say that in terms of performance, the iPhone 8 is significantly better. It cannot be denied that the company has not taken a super long jump from where it was with its previous model in spec terms- many expected dual cameras and portrait mode and maybe even dual front cameras – but even then, we would say that this does qualify as one of the best smartphone cameras out there. Yes, it is single lens but is good enough to give those dual lenses a run for their money. And yes, we will be comparing it with the iPhone 8 Plus. Stay tuned.
