If you can only afford one GPU, the $3,300 M17x is a better option, but its chassis can only accommodate a single graphics card. But if you can swing for two GPUs, then the M18x is the way to go. From power to weight to price, this notebook simply has more--the most--of everything.

It is definitely the best-performing laptop that we've tested to date, thanks to the amazing specifications and uncommon SLI-graphics setup. Battery life, as you can expect, with the Alienware M18x is rather poor compared with all other laptops at about 1.5 hours, so you'll definitely want to stay near a power source if you do any portability.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580M SLI: Due GeForce GTX 580M (GF114 Fermi) in modalità SLI. A causa dell'utilizzo massimo di energia di 2x 100 Watt di entrambe le schede MXM, la GTX580M SLI può essere utilizzata solo su portatili molto grandi.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

Alcuni portatili desktop-replacement estremamente grandi pesano tanto. Non sono desinati ad essere portati in giro e sono piuttosto rari.
Alienware: Alienware è stata fondata negli Stati Uniti nel 1996. La sede europea si trova in Irlanda. Alienware fa parte del gruppo Dell dal 2006. La gamma di prodotti si concentra principalmente su laptop e desktop da gioco, sviluppati e prodotti da Dell. Il marchio è un design leggermente futuristico con un alieno come logo. Vengono inoltre vendute postazioni di lavoro per clienti privati e commerciali.
Come con ogni marchio, ci sono anche alcuni punti critici con Alienware.
