With Acer’s Swift X 16-inch, you’re getting what you pay for. A $1,249, it’s quite a bit cheaper than most of the heavy hitters in its size category. But it’s also equipped to match, sporting a 1,920 by 1,200 pixel display, middling battery life, and a chassis that champions function over form. Yet maybe that’s the idea: the Swift X 16-inch is poised to please someone who wants a big screen and enough oomph to get them through the work day, and needs little else.

For the asking price, the Acer Swift X 16 is a good, solid laptop. The display is good, as is the sound system, while the build quality and the keyboard are top notch. There’s also a decent selection of ports, and general performance is decent. The problem is that the new Intel GPU, at least in this instance, isn’t particularly impressive. I’m sure there are cost advantages to Acer in fitting the A370M rather than an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 – indeed, the Swift X 16’s price tag wouldn’t be unreasonable if it didn’t have a discrete GPU – but it simply doesn’t add enough to turn a good laptop into an exceptional one.

Intel A370M:

Queste schede grafiche dovrebbero essere in grado di far funzionare tutti i giochi attuali con un framerates fluido ma rinunciando al livello di dettaglio massimo. Specialmente i giochi impegnativi come Crysis, Age of Conan, o Mass Effect sono utilizzabili soltanto con impostazioni grafiche ridotte. I giochi meno pesanti (e più datati), come Fifa 08, Command & Conquer 3, o Battlefield 2142 possono essere giocati con livello di dettagli più alto.

Una CPU di fascia media superiore della famiglia Alder Lake con 4 core di prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. Questo SoC da 28 W è progettato per essere usato in computer portatili ultraleggeri. I core performanti del Core i7-1260P sono abilitati Hyper-Threading per un totale di 16 thread. Questa CPU di 12a generazione funziona da 1,5 GHz a 4,7 GHz e supporta le caratteristiche vPro di livello "Essentials".
