It looks good, the build quality is solid for a thin chassis, and it has decent firepower if you’re not looking to maximize frame rates or play games at the higher settings. Taking into account the price however (RM4799), I would recommend saving up and getting the i5 variant of the Triton 500 for the beefier GPU (RTX 2060) instead if you plan on gaming a lot. You get an overall better gaming experience, a slightly lighter laptop, and better battery life.

Currently, you can pick up the Acer Predator Helios 300 on sale from Amazon for $1,099. Of the systems included in these tests, the two that came closest to matching the Predator Helios 300 were the Dell G7 15 and the MSI GS65 Stealth. The first of these retails for around $1,803.99 whereas the latter notebook costs $1,699. These higher price tags may come with some extra features and benefits, like the MSI GS65 Stealth’s full metal exterior and more compact form factor, but in terms of raw performance, neither of these more expensive systems best the Acer Predator Helios 300.

Its screen could use a bit more colour, its speakers, a lot more volume, and its 2.5-kilogramme build, some slimming down. Luckily, all those flaws can be overlooked if all you care about is consistent performance from its well-stacked internals. The GTX 1650 graphics card inside matches well with the Intel 9th Gen Core i7 CPU to offer a pleasurable gaming experience on most popular AAA titles as long as you’re not adamant about pushing that slider to Ultra in video settings, leave alone VR.

While we are more or less happy with it, we were disappointed to see that there is no Thunderbolt connection. Not only that but the only USB Type-C port it has is only a 3.1 (Gen. 1) (up to 5Gbps). You know what it else lacks – an SD card reader.

That will no doubt outperform all currently available RTX 2070 gaming laptops. It’s unclear exactly when the new Helios 300 will hit stores, but it should be worth the wait.

It's a fine option in its class, with a practical and well-built chassis, good inputs, and excellent display and overall smooth performance with daily use, demanding loads, and games. Thermals are its culprit, though, as well as the small battery and limited IO compared to other ultraportable performance notebooks, which Acer will hopefully compensate with aggressive prices.

Il Predator Triton 300 SE entra a far parte del piccolo ma elitario gruppo di portatili da gioco da 14 pollici ad alte prestazioni composto da Razer Blade 14, Asus Zephyrus G14 e Alienware x14. Il modello Acer ha i suoi vantaggi, ma non sono sufficienti per distinguersi dalla massa.

Acer: Nel 1976, l'azienda è stata fondata a Taiwan con il nome Multitech e nel 1987 è stata ribattezzata Acer o Acer Group. La gamma di prodotti comprende, ad esempio, laptop, tablet, smartphone, desktop, monitor, TV e periferiche per computer. Dal 2007, il gruppo si è fuso con Gateway Inc. e Packard Bell, che commercializzano anche le proprie linee di prodotti per laptop.
I computer Acer sono progettati per una varietà di scopi, inclusi ultrabook per uso mobile, laptop da gioco per giocatori, opzioni convenienti per le attività quotidiane e laptop convertibili 2 in 1 per la versatilità. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q:
Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip TU106 con 2.304 shaders e 8 GB GDDR6 VRAM. Offre velocit‡ di clock ridotte per ottenere un consumo energetico molto pi˘ basso.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Mobile:
Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia medio-alta basata sull'architettura Turing con funzionalit‡ di raytracing e 1.920 shaders. Rispetto all'analoga scheda desktop con nome simile, offre valori di clock ridotti.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU: Scheda grafica per laptop di fascia alta basata sul chip Ampere GA106 con 3072 core. Disponibile in diverse versioni con un TDP da 60 a 115 Watt.

Intel Coffee Lake:
i5-9300H:
Processore basato sull'architettura di Coffee Lake per computer portatili grandi e pesanti. Integra quattro cores di processore con clock a 2,4 - 4,1 GHz (4 GHz con 4 cores) che supportano HyperThreading. Prodotto in un processore migliorato a 14nm (14nm++).
Intel Comet Lake:
i7-10750H:
Un processore hexa-core ad alte prestazioni progettato per i computer portatili più spessi con spazio per migliori termiche. Il processore Comet Lake-H è prodotto sul processo Intel di terza generazione a 14 nm e dispone della iGPU UHD Graphics 630 con clock da 350 MHz a 1.150 MHz. I core della CPU funzionano a 2.6 GHz (velocità di clock di base) con boosting fino a 5 GHz e la probabile frequenza Boost all-core è di 4.3 GHz. Il supporto Hyper-Threading è abilitato, permettendo a due thread di funzionare simultaneamente su ogni core.
Intel Alder Lake-P:
i9-12900H:
Un processore mobile basato su Alder-Lake con 6 core ad alte prestazioni e 8 core efficienti. I core ad alte prestazioni offrono l'hyper-threading, che consente di elaborare 20 thread. Il processore opera a frequenze comprese tra 1,8 e 5 GHz e supporta vPro.
