The Acer Aspire 8942G is a desktop replacement in an almost literal sense - you'll barely be able to see any desk behind it. A gigantic 18.4in display means the chassis measures 440mm across and weighs more than 4kg, so it's good for the occasional trip up and down the stairs at home but not much else.

While it is expensive, it offers everything and more that you could possibly want from a Blu-ray laptop, despite its limited portability.

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850: La HD 5850 è una HD 5870 con un clock più lento e dipende dalla veloce memoria GDDR5 per poter inserirsi nel segmento alte prestazioni. Si basa sul chip della Desktop HD 5770 ma ha una velocità clock inferiore.
Ridurre la distanza delle Schede Grafiche per gli utenti che vogliono utilizzare il videogiochi. I nuovi giochi dovrebbero funzionare su queste schede, ma con riduzione dei dettagli e risoluzione mediocre.

520M: Il Core i5-520M ha solo 3 MB di L3 Cache (rispetto alla I7-640M) ed un clock tra 2.4-2.93 GHz (Turbo Mode). Grazie all'Hyperthreading, possono essere processati 4 threads contemporaneamente. Nel pacchetto è inclusa anche una scheda grafica (GMA HD 3150) ed un controller memoria DDR3.
